I made a huge crock pot of spaghetti meat sauce yesterday. Like 4 meals worth. I was waiting for it to cool before bagging it up. Then I forgot and left it out all night! Shit! It has ground beef in it. I know it was still warm at 10 and it's 6:30am now. So, should I freeze it or toss it?

When is your LO napping these days?

Our schedule is all kinds of thrown off. She wakes up at 5:30, and is falling asleep by 9. Then she refuses to take an afternoon nap, so she's up for like 7 to 8 hours. I do not like this schedule at all, but I'm not sure how to fix it.

My mom watches DD during the week and has been asking for more lunch ideas. The staples lately have been chicken, grilled cheese, some sort of pasta, or left overs form dinner if there are any, with some fruits or veggies...I am terrible at meal planning and my mom normally is good at it just having trouble coming up with new ideas for DD. F will eat anything and everything so that shouldn't be an issue (we haven't given her fish or peanut butter yet.)

So what do you guys feed your LO's for lunch?

I am. My whole family is so I come by it naturally. It's just not a big deal to give or receive gifts. I got gift cards for my bday and I feel guilty thinking about using it for selfish "me" things and not groceries or Christmas gifts for family or stuff for ds. My dh loves gifts so I try but we struggle to pay our bills right now until he is done with school so any gift giving is a huge sacrifice. My brother is awful with his wife too and she has gotten use to it over te years. I tell her we come by it genetically and we don't mean to be bad at it! Maybe this is flame worthy but I will probably just bake something for our sitters...if I can't get my family nice gifts for Christmas due to tight finances then I can't justify giving them extra money or gift cards. I feel this is unpopular around here. Any ladies like this?

Today's Item: Perfect Tortilla pans Ok so I don't really cook, DH does most of it, but I do the shopping and taco night is a must. For a long while I had been avoiding shells, chips and tortillas but I was granted special metabolic powers through pumping BM, so carbs were back on the menu. I didn't want to regress fully to greasy taco shells ala my middle school cafeteria, so it seemed Perfect Tortilla pans would be the perfect way to jazz up my sad pile o'lettuce, meat and cheese. I proudly brought them home and said "DH, cook my taco!" ;) We followed the directions and it was...not perfect. Fucking advertising! Perhaps my wheat flour tortillas were too dry to be baked like that. But could I find large corn tortillas? No! Not at my store. But then I did find some Aztec tortillas in the refrigerated section. They come with little cardboard cutouts to make the bowl shape! Whatever. You have to drape them over instead of setting the tortilla inside. We still use the pans though, because who has time for cardboard origami, but now DH will drape upside down instead of what I believe to be the correct way. So I'm constantly saying "DH, you're doing the taco wrong!" Verdict: merely semi perfect tortillas Any cooking inventions you swear by? Slap chop? Magic Bullet? That pasta pan? Ginsu knives?

Clogs and mules are out because I can't walk in shoes without backs (honestly.) I tried a pair of Sperrys Top Siders but they literally made my feet look like boats. Any ideas???

DS wears 12-18 month clothes - he is just getting into strictly 18 month size. There is a Just Between Friends sale this weekend for winter clothes. I live in MN, where it stays cold until March usually...sometimes May. He is set for 18 month, but do you think I should get him winter stuff in 24 month size? It is so hard to know! His growing is definitely slowing down.

Our kitchen renovation is almost finished - yay! Looks like we may actually be able to cook Thanksgiving dinner in the new kitchen.

I wanted to see what has worked best for everyone else for cabinet and drawer babyproofing. I know some people just move breakable/dangerous stuff to upper cabinets, but DD is really adventurous and so we'd like to have her unable to open them.

Last year DD had only been going to the nanny for a month so we just gave cash and I was not too worried but it would be nice to give her something as well.

Js room (along with all other bedrooms) is off of the living room. We've lived here for nearly a year, and I finally got the time to really get his room baby proofed. I unpacked more stuff, moved things around, etc. The only issue I have is that he is obsessed with closing doors. I'm afraid hhe'll pinch his fingers, or lock himself in his room. I want something to put in the door to prevent it from closing. I went to walmart, target, and Walgreens today. Nothing!

My DS is 15 months old and does not do anything gently! He will run over to the dog and smack her on the head or face and just laughs. He also tries to hit me and my DH. We redirect saying gentle or easy and then petting the dog gently with his hands but it just doesn't stick. Is there anything else we can do? I know he will eventually get it but didn't know if there is anything else we can do!

I haven`t been on much. We are in Ireland currently visiting DH`s family.
I have since the beginning of October lost three people who I was close to, too cancer. A friend and two friend`s dad`s.
I received a call from my mom a few hours ago. My SIL`s mom was told that she has less than a year to live. She had breast cancer (which she won the battle) and has been diagnosed with a type that hardens her bone marrow.
They gave her the option:
Bone marrow transplant (20% chance that she will be here in five years)
She has chosen not to do treatment. It was hard on her the first time and she does not want to go through it again.
Please if you could, keep her and my brother and SIL in your prayers.

Has anyone been? It's a short and inexpensive flight for us, and we are considering going with Kate for a long weekend. But I would like for her to be able to enjoy Nickelodeon Universe, a theme park in the mall. I think she might be too young for the majority of it, though I did see that they offer Toddler Tuesdays. Thoughts on the whole experience with a young toddler? Should we wait until she's a little older? I don't want to pay for flights & hotel only to end up spending the majority of the time at the hotel. We were thinking of going in January.
