So, since I totally assed out on the drinking thread last night and missed a conversation about Italian awesomeness (just look at my blond haired Luciano Salvatore!), I am now having coffee if anyone wants to join me. DS is sleeping in, and I can hear my poor congested baby snoring over the monitor! What is everyone up to today?

Today is my mothers birthday, so I was going to take her put to lunch, then probably drop DS off at her house so I can go do a big grocery shop, for the week and for thanksgiving. DH finally comes home tonight, but from the weather forecasts I am kind of worried he is going to get delayed.

I forgot there was the bay window so I'm wondering if I should have three long curtains? What would I do with the middle curtain when I open them? What else can I do for window treatments? Help!

It seems like not that long ago you *might* get a school pic tucked in your Christmas card. Then people slowly started with the photo cards, using candids. Now this. Is it like this in your circles? I feel sort of foolish, but then again I know I will love the pics and have them forever.

And for some reason there are alot more choices (and alot more expensive) than I thought they'd be. I've got $50 Kohl's cash that I thought I could put towards one and spend very little out of pocket. But the one I origionally thought I wanted is kind of rinky-dink! The Step2 Cozy Kitchen is only $67 at Kohl's, so after my Kohl's cash it would be $17 ... BUT all the buttons are stickers and it doesn't make any sounds. I think I want something that she can use for a few year!

Anyone found a good one? At a decent price (less than $100).

I tried cutting something else out but this is as bare bones as I can go.

UPDATE:: So I was talking to H last night and he said that as an ice breaker at his work retreat, he had to say what he looked forward to at thanksgiving every year and he said my roasted brussels sprouts with prosciutto and shallots. I love my husband so much, so very much (you'd have to to put up with him!) but, really? Brussels sprouts is what you look forward to? Whatever, dude. So, do I have to make those now? I feel obligated and if so, do I keep the prosciutto in the stuffing or cut it out because that's too redundant? Should I swap it? The charcuterie down the street from which we are getting our turkey has duck prosciutto. Maybe that in one and pork in the other?

Also, here's the recipe I'm loosely using for the pie (I am terrible at following recipes!) https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Deep-Dish-Winter-Fruit-Pie-with-Walnut-Crumb-354977

It has you soak the figs in water but I thought I would use liqueur instead to add a flavor oomph and then boil that down and add to the filling (and reduce the sugar by a tablespoon or two). What liqueur should I use? Calvados, rum and brandy come to mind but I could see one of the whiskey family working too. Thanks! Sorry I am so annoying!
