So does your LO sleep with a pillow yet at night? If so how long have they been using one?
My mom has been giving my daughter one of our older flatter pillows to sleep on during her naps and she seems to love it. She has been fighting going to sleep and waking up in the middle of the night and the only way she falls back to sleep is on the twin bed on the pillow. So tonight I decided to put the pillow in the crib for the night. I am kind of nervous about it, she still only sleeps with her blankets and paci...

Over the last week or so, DS has not been consistently wanting his morning nursing session anymore (which was the last one). And when he did nurse, it was only for a few seconds and he was off and running. Today was the 3rd day he didn't ask for it, so I think we are officially done.

I am somewhat excited because I can eat whatever I want again now (with nut allergies in the family, I was told to not eat them while BFing). Just scheduled a date to hit up Five Guys Burgers and Fries in a couple weeks.

But it is also a little sad. I was so ready to be done at night (which happened in mid-Dec), but I would have gone longer for that morning time. At least before DS was done BFing, DH and I pretty much decided we will try for #3 later this year, so I'm probably not done forever. That will be harder, I think. And DS did go for a month longer than DD did.

So I feel good about it overall. Just needed to share with people who might care/understand more than my FB friends.

I'm tired of getting the side eye from other moms who dress their kids in snow suits to go to Walmart while I have dd in fleece and layers. Can anyone recommend a coat that looks warmer than fleece hoodies, but is still thin enough for the carseat. (Right now she has a 3 in 1 that is too puffy, and a wool coat that is too bulky.)

Also, anyone have luck with a poncho for more than just going from home to a warm car - like running errands and going in and out a lot?

This is for central NY weather.

DS had a crappy night of sleep. My big boy that's been sleeping in until 8am was up at 3, 4, 5..... finally got up with him for the day at 6. Anyhow, in my sleepy boredom I started looking back at old posts. There was a discussion back in July, when most of the babes weweren't quite one..... a lot of us said we'd get rid of the paci around 16-18 mo... which Iis now.

Are you still using them? DS was just using them for his nap & bedtime but for the past few weeks with colds and teething, it seems to always be in his mouth. He has been so cranky and we're guilty of using it too much.

That being said, my goal is to go back to only for sleeping and cutting it out by his 2nd birthday.

DETROIT -- Combi USA is recalling more than 33,000 child car seats made before January 2013 because the harnesses aren't strong enough to meet federal safety standards.

The Charlotte, N.C., company is recalling the Coccoro, Zeus Turn and Zeus 360.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the seat straps don't meet minimum strength requirements. If there's a crash, children may not be properly secured.

A company spokeswoman says the seats are still safe to use because the harness as a whole meets safety standards. She says one part of the harness that includes a plastic button failed strength tests. Seats made after January 2013 don't have the same problem.

Combi will notify registered owners and send out free harness replacement kits starting in February. Owners can contact Combi at (800) 543-7734.
Below is the full recall notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration:Make: COMBIModels: 8220 (COCCORO), 8815 (ZEUS TURN), 8836 (ZEUS 360)Production Dates: September 3, 2010 - December 5, 2012Noncompliance: Combi USA, Inc. The harness webbing fails to meet minimum breaking strength requirements. Thus, these child seats fail to comply to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213, "Child Restraint Systems."Consequence: In the event of a crash, a child may not be remain adequately secured, increasing the risk of injury.Corrective Action: Combi will notify registered owners and provide free harness replacement kits along with repair instructions.
But I definitely have a twatwaffle to nominate: DH's ridiculous man cold. He's had it for the last week and its basically rendered him incapacitated (or he thinks it has anyway). We both have 2 weeks off, but I've been the one to get up with DD every day, prepare her breakfast while she screams at me, feed her and entertain her until DH decides to wake up. He's still asleep now. (2 hours after DD woke up.) I was really hoping for a bit of a break today to run a couple errands in peace, but DD is super fussy today and I will just be pissed if DH says he's not feeling up to watching her, so I feel like it may be better not to even ask.

DS has been in the same daycare since June. His current provider is currently licensed and I've viewed her history on the social services website. She doesn't have any major violations, her only violations are surrounding have parents fill out the correct number of emergency contacts, not posting the correct menu for the week, not having an accurate role count. None of these are major in my eyes. The county we live in recently just changed the law about home daycares, previously home daycares could have a max of 12 kids (with an assistance if more than 5). The new law states that in order to be licensed a home daycare can't have more than 9 kids. Today my daycare provider sent an email stating that her license expires in February and she doesn't want to pick and chose 3 kids to drop from daycare and if we would be willing to keep our kids at her daycare if she doesn't renew her license. I planned on moving Micah to a daycare center when he turns 2 in August. I don't even know how to respond or what to think. I specifically only looked for licensed home daycares because I like that their is regulations and policies. She says that she will still provide the same services and nothing will change except that she will no longer be licensed. This completely stresses me out because I'm comfortable with the daycare and didn't want to move Micah until summer. We're currently paying $250 weekly and if we moved him to a center now that would increase to at least $310 weekly.

What would you do in the situation? Sorry for the rambling and punctuation errors, I just saw this email and seriously have no idea what we're going to do. My options are to keep DS in the unlicensed daycare or move him to the center in February and pay an add'l $60.
