So not only does Sophia have food and skin allergies she now has seasonal allergies. I have to make a call to the pedi but I had Dh get Benadryl and the label says not to give until 4yo. Now what? Ds has allergies all year and is on singular and Flonase. She is obviously too young for that.

Is there anything I can give her? Her eyes are really watery, runny nose and sneezing like crazy. I started the humidifier but will that help?

G is a great eater but when you lest expect it she tosses her cup then her food as quickly as she can before I can rip her tray off.

It drives me crazy, and its not like I pile the food on her tray either asking for this disaster.

Have you, will you, won't you? We used one on DD at the zoo the other day. We had her in the stroller most of the time but she just got too antsy. So we put her sweet monkey leash backpack on her and let her have it. She was running and exploring. It was great to not have to worry about losing her or god forbid somebody trying to snatch her. It also helped when she almost fell face first into the pavement. We only got 1 "is that a leash?" comment, followed by "I used to do the same thing to my kids too!"

There was a giant, hairy, jumping spider above my bed when I got out of the shower. I sprayed it 1000 times with alcohol based body splash. It may have died from all the alcohol, but I'm not sure. My bed does smell lovely now though.

Reasons 1 and 2 and 3 are L, J, and DH. All of the rest of the reasons are insects or spiders.

Please help me. Max goes to bed at 6:30 every night and used to sleep until 5 or 6 or even 6:30. Now he wakes up at 4, if I go in and rub his tummy he will sometimes fall back asleep until 5 but I have to stay there with my hand on his tummy (laying on the floor with arm awkwardly through crib slats).

My husband is writing some major medical exams at the end of the month (HELLO STRESSFUL) and these early mornings are affecting his studying....I try to do what I can to keep things quiet so he can sleep later than 4am...Now I'm pregnant again and need my sleep more than ever. What should I do? Move bedtime to 7 or 7:30? Let him CIO in the morning? Sneak the ipad and a bottle of milk into his bed so he can occupy himself when he wakes up (was joking but not a bad idea lol). We weaned two weeks ago and he is still looking to nurse in the morning so it is a screamfest until he settles.

I usually take him downstairs at 5 and give him some milk and a bowl of cereal, and let him watch cartoons until 6 when we kind of "get up." I need to fix this! He naps well every day from 12-2. Help!

DH is nesting. I like it. He vacuumed while I took a nap this afternoon. Hellz yeah!

I think he is expecting something (of the bow-chic-a-wow-wow variety, in case you hadn't guessed) in return. Not sure he's going to get it tonight.

It feels weird to still be pregnant. Since DD2 came at exactly 37 weeks, I thought for sure baby boy would have made his grand debut by now. I don't mind though, and I think this Monday would be a great day to be born.

Baby has been quiet, like really quiet, since yesterday. I do have an anterior placenta, so I guess he/she could be hiding under the placenta?

I ate chocolate ice cream this evening to try and get baby to move, but I only felt a tiny amount of movement towards the bottom of my belly.

Would you or would you not call the M/W? I'm torn because of the anterior placenta and where I AM feeling movement. I've only felt baby move maybe twice today. Even after chocolate ice cream.

Oh, and ps. A similar thing happened when I was pregnant with J and it was right around the same time. It turns out there is a big growth spurt that happens around this time and they are very quiet during that time.

About a month ago, DD started waking up like clockwork around 4am every morning, hanging out in bed with us for an hour or two, and then falling back to sleep around 6am for another 2-3 hours.

I wasn't sure if this was a result of DST, teething, moving into her twin bed, or a combination of things. But I waited for the phase to pass, and it didn't, so we moved into trial and error mode to adjust bedtime, naps, etc.

Well, it looks like a 3 hour nap every day finally became way more daytime sleep than she actually needs. I guess she was getting up at 4 because she wasn't tired. After cutting her naps down to 2 to 2-1/2 hours every day by waking her up, she has been STTN all week.

I know I should be grateful that she naps so well, but I am really gonna miss that extra hour of down time in the afternoon, especially once the new baby is here!

What kind of BC?

I'm on the mini pill and have been spotting since I started it. On top of that, I'm horrible about taking it at the same time everyday... Making my chances of getting KU 1 in 20. So it is pretty much worthless to me. Pretty sure I'd die if I got pregnant right now! LOL

So, left a part out of the bottles today which meant I spilled breastmilk on the way into daycare AND them the bottles didn't work. Fawk. Ran to Walmart, problem fixed.

I am currently sitting in a parking lifting nursing since Gray was screaming his head off. We left work at 4:06pm. It is now 5:26. I realistically have 3040 minutes more to drive. Double fawk. I took the "good" freeway only to find a massive accident and had to detour to the shiitty freeway......and it was just as shiity as I thought it would be.

It has to get better, right? RIGHT??!!

A woman from my MOMS Club group just sent me a FB message offering me her daughter's spring/summer 24month/2T clothes. We were talking yesterday about a local consignment sale that's going on this weekend, and I mentioned I have a bit of shopping to do since it just got warm here, and we've still been wearing long sleeves and pants.

Anyway, what's a good way to respond with thanks and offer her something for the clothes? I can't come up with a nice way to say, "Can I offer you some money for your stuff." I have no idea how many pieces she might have, she hasn't even gone through her daughter's closet yet.

I don't know her super well, I've only been in the group for about three months and I've hung out with her at play groups about a half dozen times or so. She didn't mention anything about paying for the clothes, but I can't not offer her something, ya know?

Anyway, I've been lurking around again lately, checking out the many august '11 moms who are pregnant again or TTC. I have serious baby on the brain right now, but my heart and head are really over thinking things

Heart: the time is NOW. this lil lady needs a sibling not too far apart in age. start TTC, have fun with it - no pressure! see what happens and crank it into high gear if nada has happened in the Fall

Head: Wait! what if you get pregnant on your first try! you dont want a winter baby, do you? How are you gonna handle 2 kids, P is still a baby!

needless to say, im driving myself insane. it was so much easier getting accidentally KU the first time! So...HELLO everyone! Aren't summer babies the BESTEST!?

I go back to work tomorrow. I'm not actually in the classroom tomorrow, I will just be planning with my co-teacher, but I am not interested. At. All. I am only working W,TR,F until school gets out so next Wednesday is technically my first day.

Tomorrow may not be pretty. Gray has never stayed with anyone but me and Max acts like he's being tortured if anyone else takes him. This is new. Sigh.

We went cold turkey on bottles for my 20 month old about two weeks ago. He doesn't seem to care about his bottle, but getting him to drink milk now is challenging to say the least. He drinks water out of a sippy cup and refuses to drink milk in anything but a bottle. It is driving me INSANE. He likes milk, since he would drink it in his bottle every day, so the taste isn't the issue. We've tried chocolate milk, milk cartons, milk in a regular cup with a straw, sippy cup... nothing works. Any thoughts??? The main concern I have is that he's also going through a picky eating stage (at least I hope it's a stage) so he's not even making up for the dairy because he won't touch yogurt or anything. He will eat cheese if it's like a grilled cheese or something but that's the extent. We cut out juice and have only been offering him milk and water but of course he just drinks the water. I figured by now he would just get over it and drink the stinkin' milk! STUBBORN! He acknowledges the milk in his sippy cup by saying "milk!" so he knows what it is, but he just refuses to drink it. Just wondering if anyone's child is as strange as mine

I don't want to be tan, but I would like to have some color. I don't want streak marks. What do you use for a little color?

"no nap" days

Today was a "no nap" day. Sigh... He fell asleep in the car on the way home, and then didn't stay asleep like he usually does when I moved him in to his crib.

I was wondering if anyone has anything they do differently on "no nap" days to help LO wind down more easily at bedtime. Do you just follow your normal routine? Do you start earlier? Do you add/change anything?

The only thing I've done up until now is just talk myself through the evening and remind myself that he didn't nap and he's overtired. In other words, I try to make sure that I stay calm since chances are that HE won't be calm.

So backing up a second. The past couple of days I have had really light brown spotting with mucus and no cramping. So I know it is just my uterus moving or baby implanting better or whatever and nothing is wrong.

But since I keep changing my mind I called and left a message with my dr. and they say everything is fine and normal like I already knew I agree that I am comfortable monitoring it myself. Call again if bright red or cramping.

My first appointment is next week Friday, so I haven't had anything checked yet. I am 9 1/2 weeks for those who can't see tickers. I know baby is fine but that one little bit of doubt will drive me crazy till then.

No real point of this post except to get it out as sometimes writing/reading things do. But I will give you a question, Should I tell DH? My first thoughts are no because I don't want him to worry over something that really is normal and I hate talking to him about discharge-I'm a wimp like like. But it will keep him from wanting sex, which we haven't had in well over a week.

Well, a middle name that is.

Anyhoo, Baby Boy's middle name shall be Lai Hin (???)

DH tells me "Hin" is a very masculine name, and it also was the name of some famous emperor (the Yellow Emperor, to be exact). Sounds maybe a little too pompous for my taste, but DH and FIL both seem pretty stoked about it.

As for "Lai", it is part of the family name for our children's generation. The way it was explained to me is that there is a family poem, and each generation uses the next word of the poem as the first part of their name. So if the poem went "The shimmering river flows...", then DH's name would start with "Shimmering"(as would any sibling of his), then his kid's names would start with "River". In our children's case, that word is "Lai", so the girls are Lai Yi and Lai Sum, and Baby Boy will be Lai Hin.

My sister just had her third baby on the 9th (she has twins that are 15 months old). Needless to say she'll have a busy house! And I so have baby fever now. DD and DS look so big compared to that tiny 6.5 lb newborn. Plus the hospital just redid its birth center and it looks fantastic!

Unfortunately we have to wait on a few things before we can actively TTC, anyone else in this boat?

Holy crap is he in a mood lately. I just thought of you and your post from a couple of days ago. He had a fever and a cold, then an ear infection and is in the middle of 3 molars. He pretty much screams at me all.day.long. Plusalso the little booger bit me today.

It doesn't help that I go back to work tomorrow and he is just starting to act this way. He's always been on the feisty side, but never just completely unpleasant like he is right now. There aren't enough naps in the world to right this kid's situation right now. Sigh.

So, I had my monthly midwife appointment today. I found out at my ultrasound that I have placenta previa and will need another u/s in four weeks or so. Currently, I'm not on bed rest, but if I bleed at all I'm on bed rest as of that minute. I'm honestly not worried about it. I haven't bleed this entire pregnancy.

Then, there's this news: I have "strange antibodies" in my blood, yeast problems, and my baby is measuring slightly on the larger side. All signs point to GD. The MW said I should still test at 28 weeks but the likelihood is higher.

Anyone have experience with GD?

Anyone already experience the delivery of their LO being GBS positive?

I was negative with DS1, but this time I am positive. I know it's fairly common and they just give you antibiotics during delivery to prevent passing anything to baby, but it still makes me a little nervous. Do the antibiotics have any affect on the baby? How low is the risk that baby will contract anything from me even with the antibiotics?
