Winchester Hospital vs. Mount Auburn

Hey Ladies,

Can you tell me your experiences in either of these hospitals and suggest your OB? Thanks

I had my first child at Mt. Auburn with their midwives and would recommend them. As far as OBs, I have heard good things about Dr. Hardiman, but her practice books up quickly (she only takes a limited # of women each month and attends each birth personally).

I am currently seeing one of the midwives at Mt.Auburn and so far it has been a great experience. She really takes the time to answer all my questions very thoroughly.

We are loving the midwives at Mt. Auburn. We don't have a choice about which hospital for delivery, but we could pick an OB or the midwives, and so far, we are really happy w/ the midwives. The midwives do a "Meet the Midwives" night every 6 weeks or so, and they give you a tour of labor & delivery and answer tons of questions- I highly recommend going if you are interested in using the midwives.

I know this is just one bad experience, but I HATE Winchester Hospital! If you have a choice deliver somewhere else...anywhere else.

I didn't have a baby there, but my sister did and I stayed with her almost the whole time. They were rude to her and treated her like an idiot. When she had concerns about the baby, they treated her like she was a "stupid new mom" and then didn't apologize when there was actually something wrong with the baby. I.E really high temp.

The whole experience was awful for her and totally frustrating to watch. I would never recommend Winchester...ever.
