@Wishilivedinflorida Oh no, so sorry to hear. Sending lots of good, strong, healthy energy your way.

@dubcompanion love you calling the kiddos your "audience", I say that all the time.

@Aera11 It was OK! I was crying a bit beforehand remembering the last time I was at a place like that, but the technicians were very nice. Last time, she didn't even say hello to me, so I really appreciated the chit chat and the warning when she was about to push on my very full bladder. The doctor will get the results in a few days, so hopefully they can fit me by Friday to talk about it and see what's next.

@Wishilivedinflorida I hope it's nothing serious and you feel better soon!

    2. Status-- CD 20 and still WTO

    3. Rants/ Raves-  Rant: This is my 6th day of high fertility on CBAD. Last cycle I O'd CD 21 so now I am freaking out that O is going to be much later this month or not happen at all which I know is totally possible post loss, but ugh I'm tried of WTO! Rave: DH and I are going away this weekend which I am definitely looking forward to.

    4. GTKY: I have a lot of food related quirks. Just to name a few; I won't eat the end of hotdogs and I eat the middle of Reece cups first then the rim.

    1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): Not new but haven't posted in a few weeks. This is our first cycle trying since the MC at 11 weeks in March.

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): WTO CD 6

    3. Rants/raves: I'm excited to be able to try again. Of course we found out Friday that DH has a stress fracture in his hip socket. We need to find a way to HIO without injuring him more.

    4. GTKY: Everyone has quirks! Tell us about some of yours? I have a lot. My weirdest one is that things need to be even or to the left. I cannot even wear jewelry on my right arm/hand. If I feel like something is unbalanced my eyes twitch because somehow that will make things better *eyeroll*

    1. Not new, but I see so many new names here. First MC on 12/26 at 7wks with unknown cause. Second MC was a BO diagnosed in March, actual MC on 4/9.

    2. Benched for 2-3 months. September TTC at the earliest.

    3. Rants: Thyroid levels have not been too outside of goal range, but have not been stable. They also went up recently despite an increase in my medication. I'm meeting with an endocrinologist with experience treating thyroid disease in pregnancy in July, so we'll see what she says. Either way, we're waiting to get a couple months of stable thyroid results before TTC again. Also, all my RPL bloodwork came back fine except for some slightly elevated APS antibodies. They weren't high enough to be officially positive, but were in the "indeterminate" range above normal. So, we have to wait 12 weeks and retest. Harrumph. I'm so sick and tired of being in "gray areas". Given all my "kinda sorta maybe but probably not" issues, we're thinking about making an RE appointment too. There's an RPL specialist in my city, and I kind of want a consult with her to cover our bases before TTC again. While we're benched would be a good time for it.

Anyone have knowledge or experience with APS? It sounds so scary.

Rave: we're getting a puppy next month! I can't wait for the distraction!

    4. I also love the smell of books - it's why I don't use my e-reader! Also, I have to sleep under the covers, at least a sheet, no matter how hot it is. I feel too uncomfortable and exposed otherwise.

Thanks for starting the thread!! @reneeannemm

    ugh... CD 1 today....

Rant:  how does anyone deal with this crap over and over! Then the possibility of loss after.. Grr. I'm frustrated.

GTKY: quirky? Hmm I'm ocd with my cell phone in my bag.. Will always make sure I have it in there except if I'm at the beach or pool.

Oh goodness! I was up at 430 but didn't get to rest until 10 and there was already over 30 posts in here so I thought I'd wait til later to catch up and contribute when I had more time and felt a little better! Know that I read every single word from all of you and thoroughly enjoyed each post but am feeling a bit too drained to respond to each individually right now <3

    1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): not really new, but there are some newbies here. I'm 34, DH is 39, TTC #1 after an early MC Feb 25th but currently BENCHED for the summer b/c DH needs some time to work through some fears (though it doesn't seem to help me from thinking I might possibly get KU from POM *eyeroll* I know...I'm ridiculous! LOL). I have some chronic illnesses that can make things a little trickier, especially when it comes to SS!

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): Benched for the Summer ;)

    3. Rants/raves: Okay, well, my efforts at temping seemed to have possibly failed this month. Last month was practically perfect but this month didn't have a clear spike and I had discarded one of my high temps because it was so hot out I thought it could be false, but then I started spotting two days ago so I added that temp back in and FF seems to think I O'd on CD10. So, now I'm CD26 and just wishing AF would start already if it's going to, even though that's a very short cycle for me. My first three cycles post-loss were 28, 32, and 30 days, respectively. Hoping they even out soon. And trust me, even though there's like zero chance, if I had any tests right now I'd still be POAS *just in case*. Ugh, this is so hard :(

Raves: The big move was this weekend and it was incredibly stressful but at least it's finally DONE!!! I'm very tired and my pain is pretty high but I'm still managing some unpacking, which is great. DH is working out of town for five days so I can kind of go at my own pace for a bit and then leave the stuff I need help with for when he gets back. The new house is much more remote than my last and it's beautiful, and green, and quiet! It's almost like a cabin lol I love it :)

    4. GTKY: Everyone has quirks! Tell us about some of yours?
I'm known to be kind of a "weirdo" lol and I loved reading about everyone's quirks!!! A couple of mine include needing to walk on the right side of people, like, always, and I have no idea why; and apparently I have a tendency to talk out of the corner of my mouth (think: Blake Lively-style), especially if I'm really excited about what I'm talking about lol

    1. Not exactly new Ive popped in from time to time since April. Had a miscarriage at 15 weeks 4/13 due to baby having triploidy :( still mentally working through that.

    2. status: WTO cd5 -- starting a new adventure in ovulation tests tomorrow hoping this helps me feel somewhat in control. Any advice anyone can give?

    3. Rants/raves: I have good days and bad days. My SIL happened to catch me on a bad day late last week. She offered me her 5 year old daughter for a day because she's a pain in the ass and would change my mind about having kids. uh... Thanks that's nice....

    4. Quirks: I'm sure my DH could give you a million of these haha! I've enjoyed reading everyone else's. I'm definitely a little OCD. I need things in their place and my loving husband hasn't jumped aboard that just yet lol

Proud of everyone for making it through another week!

@allysondunn2 what are your experiences with the clear blue ovulation tests? I just ordered some to try and give me some piece of mind. On my second cycle post loss so just wanna know that I'm even O'ing at this point in time
  • Options
@cmmiller531 I used the clear blue digital the cycle I got KU and was pleased with those. I'm still on the fence about the CBAD. I like knowing when high fertility is, but at the same time it is stressing me out to have so many high days.

    1. Introduce yourself (if you're new):
Hi - I'm Laura. I'm TTC #3. Had a mmc in late February at 13 weeks (had seen hb 3 times previously). Took 2 D&Cs to take care of... (first one my OB missed the fetal tissue completely AND perforated my uterus. fun times)

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): Benched for the summer. Because I'm traveling a ton and do NOT want the extra anxiety of possibly being pregnant while I'm out of town away from husband and my OB (even though she perforated my uterus I seriously LOVE my OB)

    3. Rants/raves:
Rants - Dude, I'm an emotional mess and its awful. A month after my MMC, My grandfather died but I was 4 weeks into an amazing teaching quarter so just kept trekking. And now its summer and I'm crashing and its awful. I'm sad and emotional and second guessing EVERYTHING - from having another kid to waiting to try in Sept,  to what to serve my kids for dinner. Its awful. Both losses are intertwined and its just a big emotional mess.

Raves - My husband and I booked 5 days in Hawaii in September! Which means that I'm taking 4 weeks of vacation this summer :) Also, we *finally* bought a house! In the Bay Area.

    4. GTKY: Everyone has quirks! Tell us about some of yours?
Like many others - I am a book smeller! LOL - happy to know there are others :)
I'm a big nerd about lots of stuff - water (because I teach it!), fonts, pencils just to name a few!

@ladipale I also experienced another loss right around the time of my mmc. I lost my beloved cat after 15 years (totally not the same as a grandfather so please don't think I'm saying the two are the same). But I do understand how they all compound and roll in together. My DH and I can't even get our poop in a group over buying a house. It is normal for your emotions to be a total mess.

@ladipale I know exactly how you feel. I lost twin boys mid May of last year and then my grandfather at the beginning of June. At my grandfathers funeral I broke down into absolute hysterics. it was like this immense wave of sadness that had been building up for a month finally hit me. I'm so very sorry for your losses. Please know that everything you're feeling is totally normal and that you are not alone. <3

@MooFish2364 I am sorry work is so stressful!

@chloe97 glad AF came before the 4th and you can have control over what path to take this month.

@Wishilivedinflorida I hope it isn't anything serious and you feel better soon!

@ladipale I am so sorry for your losses and sending you hugs.

    1. Introduce yourself (if you're new):
I'm a little new. I'm Amy. I had a MMC after seeing the HB. We found out at our 12 week scan on 5/25, D&C on 5/27.

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): Benched for a cycle post D&C.

    3. Rants/raves:

Rants - So my Dr. didn't officially bench us. I just wanted to take a cycle off to regroup and let my lining build back up. I feel like an idiot, but this weekend we BD unprotected because I'd had negative OPKs for days and frankly my cycles are irregular and I was expecting this one to be anovulatory. I woke up on Sunday and took an OPK and it was positive. So that happened. Waiting to see what my temps do and feeling like a knucklehead. On the bright side, sex is fun again.

Raves - DH and I have really gotten back into running which is great stress/feelings relief and just make me feel like myself again.

    4. GTKY: Everyone has quirks! Tell us about some of yours?

I also love to smell books!

There are so many neat/tidy/organized ladies in here I feel like pig pen. But that's not a quirk...  I like even numbers and prime numbers and always play little adding games with dates. And the tv volume always had to be on an even number. There have to be more, but that's all I got right now.

  • Options
@Amdogger82 Ah! I have to have the TV volume in multiples of five and if I set an alarm it has to be an even number.

Hello Ladies! Jumping into this late as I took a break from the internet for a 3 day weekend with the hubby!

    2. WTO only CD5 so still have a while.

    3. Rant/Rave: DH and I went out to the wineries to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and we had a great time! It was a little bitter sweet because if the pregnancy had lasted obviously our plans would be different and our anniversary is the day before Father's Day so that made it a little difficult too. At the last winery we went to the lady helping us wished DH a happy Father's day, now I know she didn't mean anything by it and it was simply because it was the next day, but it kind of made DH stop in his tracks a little. He isn't normally phased by things but I could just see it on his face. Luckily we went home and he seemed to bounce back a little. Then on Father's day we took his dad out to breakfast with his mom and brother and his wife. At the end they gave these chocolate lollipops to all the guys because they said you never know who is a father so they give it to every guy that eats there. Well my FIL said well they aren't fathers so I should get them all, now I know he didn't mean for it to sound that way, he is a big joker but that did kind of cut a little deep. So overall a mixed weekend but it was nice we both took off from work yesterday to unwind a little more.

    4. I have so many quirks it is hard to choose one. I always have a book in my bag, we can be going out to dinner or a show and I still have one because hey you never know. I feel like this one will only get worse because I just got a Kindle Paperwhite for an anniversary gift from DH! I also suck my teeth a lot, like I suck air in through my teeth compulsively when I am stressed and cannot stop myself from doing it. I also check to make sure the stove is off, even if I haven't used it that day, about 2-3 times before leaving the house.

This is such a great GTKY. Like so many other PP's have said, I love reading about others' quirks!

@lilylover27 Before I got a self-timed iron, I had to run home from work a couple times to make sure the appliance was turned off. (Work is 40 miles away!) Before I leave in the morning, I also check my stovetop 2-5 times to make sure it's off. I have cats, so on top of the obvious worry of lighting my house on fire, I'm afraid of my fur balls being harmed as well.

@aera11 I think I paid like $19 or $20 on Amazon for the 50 pack. DH is very happy I finally ordered them as he was tired of spending so much money on tests! @lilylover- After Mother's Day/ Father's Day I have learned I think its better not to assume or question whether or not someone is a parent. Each time someone would say Happy Mother's Day or are you a mother? over the the Mother's Day wknd it would honestly sting a little bit. I too  bring my nook with me everywhere! My DH is always like did you seriously bring your book with you? But you never when you will need it! Our anniversary is a week from today and we usually go to wineries as well but it feels a little bittersweet this year - so maybe we will do something different?

@lilylover27, the Wondfos are a dip type of test. I ordered a 100 pack of mini plastic cups when I ordered the Wondfos, and it's worked well. In a pinch, you can turn the wrapper into a "cup". This is what I do when I test at work. Just make sure to take the desiccant packet out of the wrapper first or you'll have a "pop rocks" situation on your hands.

@riversong15 I almost laughed out loud at work about that pop rocks situation! I plan on buying cups at Walmart as I forgot to add those before I checked out on amazon and am not paying shipping on just those.

@TScalei Yea I no longer assume or ask anyone if they are a mother or father on those days. I just let it go. I almost didn't hold my tongue with my FIL but figured it was best for everyone if we didn't get into it. We were going to change the winery plan but we both love to go out there for the scenery too so we figured why not. It actually turned out to be really nice to relax at a beautiful winery and sip a nice glass or two. But whatever you are both comfortable with you should do. Happy early anniversary!

welcome to all the new ladies joining us, I'm sorry for your losses. I wish I could respond back to everyone but there were so many responses I think it would be impossible! I'm thinking of you all whether you're bench, wto, or tww.

    1. Introduce yourself (if you're new): not new but i'll give a recap for the new joiners. ttc #2, ectopic discovered at 8 weeks in March. Currently CD 9 on 2nd cycle ttcal.

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): WTO, CD 9. starting up opk in the next few days. last month FF said O day was day 19 but i never actually turned a positive opk so this month I'm going to test twice a day starting CD 12-13 ish.

    3. Rants/raves: rave- i recently got a raise and promotion at work which is really exciting and i'm starting to work on some new projects which is very helpful in distracting me from obsessing over my chart.

    4. GTKY: Everyone has quirks! Tell us about some of yours? so.many.quirks. i really should ask my husband because I'm sure he could rattle off 10 off the top of his head. i'm totally ocd with hand washing, i am addicted to my planner (old school paper day planner, i need to see it and hold it and be able to physically write stuff down and flip pages. i hate electronic versions of planners). i make a lot of 'sleepy noises' as my husband calls them as i settle into bed. i pretty much wear socks 24/7 unless it's oppressively hot outside.

@brooklyngirl18 what planner do you use? I keep a bullet journal (DIY planner / journal ) although I really use it for a planner and a catch all for my lists!

I also have to write it down. Have to. My husband puts his stuff in his google calander and sometimes sends me reminders but I still write stuff down.

    Anyway! I got carried away!

@brooklyngirl18 & @iceandsnowflakes29 I am a planner addict too! I actually just ordered a new Erin Condren planner today. I like it for planning and also because I have my undergrad degree in graphic design so it is still a hobby of mine. I design, print, and cut my own stickers. I love it!

@Wishilivedinflorida Thanks for the update. Glad it's not something more serious, and I hope your icky symptoms clear up soon. I'm also glad to hear they're doing blood work, just in case. Sounds like you're in good hands!
