We just received a letter from daycare that due to not being able to hire help when the owner goes on maternity, they are closing July 31st.
DS is 2 yrs 10 mths and has been going there 4 days a week since he was 7 weeks. I am 19 weeks pregnant with our second.
One of the girls that work there has offered to watch him in her home as well as the baby when he or she is born in Nov.
She's been at his daycare for about 2 years and watches him some weekends, so we are very comfortable with her.
She is in her early 20s, recently married, and pregnant with her first child, due about 4 weeks after me.
She will be watching him in her home along with a family member's 2 yr old son.
We have discussed what the schedule would be like, pay, and sick days. I will be touring her home in the next month.
I worry about DS going from a structured, social environment to less structure and only 1 other kid to play with but she will be saving us a lot of money and it will be temporary until DS goes to preschool in about a year.
What are some questions I should be asking before we proceed?
