I miscarried last week, and haven't actively bled since Saturday night. As of yesterday, my vagina and labia feel numb, especially when I sit down, and I get a tingling sensation when I pee. I'm waiting for a callback from my doctor, but has anyone else experienced this? It would really suck if this this ends up being my "new normal."

I used Cytotec. My labia is swollen and I have internal pressure and numbness through out the area... No actual pain. My doctor is having her baby today, so the nurse spoke with another doctor in her practice, and told me to "try sitting on a bag of frozen peas today" and call tomorrow if it doesn't get better... Ive never in my life been told to put veggies on my lady bits... FML!

I've experienced numbness "down there" in the past, and mentioned it to my doctor at my last annual exam. She said it's likely a result of temporary loss of circulation - like a foot/leg falling asleep. I really hope that's all the more it is for you. FX for you!
I'm so sorry that you are experiencing this! I hope you get some answers soon!

I would make an appt to see the doctor so they can see what's going on. It's possible the swelling is pressing on a nerve and making it feel numb. I haven't experienced that before, except for when I sat on my foot too long.

I've had several yeast infections in the past. (I'm sensitive to chlorine.) Usually those sting like crazy for me, but it's worth asking. The nurse at my doctor's office had me look with a mirror, and it looks swollen inside as well as out. I'm not really having any discharge either aside from a little bit of light brown streaking that seems mixed with an even smaller bit of EWCM... The outer swelling seems to be going down with ice. I know this might make me sound like a hypochondriac, but could any of this be a sign of a blood clot?

girl, what is up with your doctor's office? frozen peas? look at it yourself with a mirror?
to me, numbness sounds like a vascular issue. my instinct would be to have a physician look at it asap to rule out anything serious. sorry you're having to deal with this.
I just remembered that my friend had this happen and it was because she had a slipped disk in her back putting pressure on a nerve. She had numbness all of the way down to her knee!

The weird ass advice worked! DH talked me into taking one of my Xanax last night. I have an anxiety disorder, and I haven't taken them since our whole TTC journey began. But I took one then stretched and did some yoga. I got my back to crack about a thousand times. I'm off work today, so I'm going to try to get in for a massage, and just relax. I have marfan syndrome which causes dural ecstasia. For me that has always been an excruciating feeling of pressure inside my spine, but on a whim this morning I went to marfan.org, and look what I found:
What are the symptoms associated with dural ectasia? What do the pain, weakness and numbness of dural ectasia feel like and where does it occur? The symptoms of dural ectasia vary. They include aching in the very low back, almost in the tailbone, abdominal pain, headaches and leg pain. Perineal pain and numbness can also occur because of the lowest sacral nerve roots. Unfortunately, there is a significant overlap with the low back pain that anyone in the general population can develop. The difference may be one of age and degree.
This actual makes me feel loads better. It probably wasn't a new problem, just a new symptom of something I've had my whole life...

I've never heard of that, but I'm glad you figured out what was causing it!
I actually needed to ice down the inflammation to restore feeling! My nurse's shot in the dark cure worked! Except, I actually need to be icing my sacrum to get full feeling back...

It's totally fine to laugh... I called my best friend and we giggled about it already this morning, because I called her in a panic yesterday, then told DH who told me to ask you Ladies, and called my doctor. Now, I feel a little dumb. Marfan syndrome is a genetic disorder, so I've had it my whole life, including dural ecstasia. It's just presenting differently this time.

They recommended I use frozen peas after my boob job. They worked great!! I rotated between them and specially ice packs they gave me.
Glad you're feeling better and found the likely culprit.
