How long after your first C-section did you get pregnant again?

We are thinking about TTC again whenever my period starts up again and I'm curious about other experiences.

I was told I need a minimum of 18 months between deliveries to reduce the risk of rupture. Which means 9 months assuming a full term pregnancy. However, I am breastfeeding and do not want to risk losing my supply before lo is a year old.

I was told I needed to wait two years before TTC again. I've had major complications though.

I got pg this past time around when my twins were 2.5. I asked my OB how long I should wait if I want to get pg again, he said 12m.

I was told 12 months as well.

I wasn't told a certain time but I would ask your OB because I think it depends on how well you heal, how much scarring you have etc. I was pregnant when my LO was 12 months exactly. So they are 21 months apart.

I was told there was no need to wait.

I got pregnant when my first was about 7 months old. Miscarried, then got pregnant a few weeks later, miscarried agaim (for very different genetic reasons) . I then got pregnant with my DS a few months later. My kids are about 22 months apart. I was "allowed" to vbac too.

Thanks for the info ladies!! I haven't had my first pp period yet so we'll have to wait and then my husband is deploying in a few months so we probably won't get to start trying more than a month or two until next spring.

I really want to do a VBAC but I don't know if they'll "let" me.

My OB told me they recommend 18 months between deliveries not necessarily between pregnancies. I think that is also because I had a really easy recovery from my surgery.

I will basically be delivering exactly 2 years from my first c-section date. Not sure what is ideal but it's perfect for our family.

DS was 9 months old when we found out about this LO. We were told to wait 6 months if we didn't want to try for VBAC.

For me we started at 2 1/2 years, my sister got pregnant 2 months after her csection.

My first 2 are 4 years apart but my youngest 2 are 18 months apart. The doctor really did recommend, and I still recommend even though I didn't listen, waiting at least a year to get pregnant. Back to back pregnancies really are hard on your body.

My first two are 3 years apart and my youngest two will be 17 months apart. My doctor didn't give me a time frame of when to get pregnant again, and didn't seem concerned with these pregnancies being so close. But every persons body and doctors are different..
