E.cho A.mia, baby girl

(no periods IRL). Middle name is pronounced ah-MEE-ah. The mother told me before the baby was born that the name means "reflection of love". My stammered answer was "how, uh, poetic!".

I actually like the middle name. Echo isn't a name I would pick for my child but I don't think it is the worst name I've seen/heard.

Echo is a TOTAL guilty pleasure name for me. I love Greek mythology. Her story isn't uplifting or anything, but the sound of it is lovely.

I vaguely remember this story from Ovid's Metamorphoses. She spread some gossip or something and made someone mad so she was cursed to only repeat what others said to her. The Metamorphoses are classic!

It's a little corny to name your kind "Reflection of Love," though. I'd side eye, but I don't think I'd say anything. If I were that girl, I'd go by Amia. It's not that bad at all.
