I'm unable to watch this as I am at work but...I saw the commercial several times and I never noticed that it was an interracial marriage portrayal until the media brought it up...
Similar to this (but probably not really): I was asking my daughter how she thought that Buddy's egg got into the pteranodon nest on the cartoon Dinosaur Train, and she explained to me that even if we have different color skin, we're all the same on the inside, so I shouldn't worry about that.
