Non baby dilemma

So I work for an airline and I get good discounts. My best friend is having a destination wedding in a year. I always assumed I would be booking discounted rates for us. She has a group rate and has now said she kinda wants all the bridal party, I am MOH, to travel together. However she also said she understood why we would want to save money and fly my airline. She seemed a little funny though. Here's my reasoning for booking the cheaper tickets, with my airline I can book an extra seat for the baby since she will be a year and a half and probably pretty wiggly. Also it is much cheaper and with a year of mat leave we have to watch costs. Finally we are asking my sister to come down to etch mine and the brides babies throughout the week and the night if the wedding. I have booked my sister on my airline since that was the cheapest option. I woul like to fly with my sister since she is taking a week off work and away from her kids to help us out, yes she gets a free trip but originally she offered to pay so she is doing this as a favour. What do you ladies think? Am I rude to ask to fly on a separate flight? I don't want to upset her but it's getting time to book and I think I need to finalize this with her. Feel free to flame me if I am totally being a bad MOH.

I think it is very reasonable to fly separately, and honestly, babies can be a pain... Tell your friend you are doing the bridal party a favor by taking a dif flight. :mobile wink:

Not rude at all! You will be spending plenty of time (and money) with the bridal party throughout the week, and not as much with your sister, so the plane ride will be a nice time to catch-up.

I would fly separately. There are many valid reasons for doing so. Even if the bride to be seemed "funny" about it, she did say she understood. If she really doesn't, it's her problem IMO. She should say what she means.

Absolutely fly on your own airline. It makes no sense to pay more for transportation. You'll get plenty of time with the bridal party plus while traveling you'll be too busy entertaining your baby to be much of a social butterfly.

Fly on your own! You have like 3 or 4 good reasons, and I think that it is weird anyway that the bride would care how you get to this week long destination wedding.

The flight is earlier, I was hoping I could meet her flight at the airport with a silly embarrassing sign or something.

What the hell kind of difference does it make to her if you are on the same flight as her? Honestly some brides are so entitled these days that it is shocking. Tell her you will make your own flight arrangements, especially with a baby traveling with you! I'm surprised she even mentioned it. I mean, most people sleep on flights anyway. How much meaningful interaction will you really have with her on the same flight? My guess is none, especially with a baby to care for.
