Too "Out there"?

My great great grandfather's name was Rutger. It has become a serious contender for a first name for our son. Our daughter's name is Cora so I like the sibset. We aren't nickname people so I don't worry that there isn't one built in.

Thoughts? Too much?

It's not bad, I think I like it especially with the family connection. Cora is so sweet, I think it makes a great pair.

I think it's horrible...MAYBE as a mn if you really wanted the family connection, but no way would I ever use it as a first name.

There are tons of little boys named Rowan where I live and I have never hear anyone ask "Like the University?"

I am not sure why Rutger is getting that. I say go for it.
