DH and I are loving the name Harper for a boy. I know it is "gender neutral" but I'm just wondering what your thoughts on it are? Too girly for a little boy? Or is it ok? We both love the vintage feel of the name.

These days, it's ALL girl to me. Even if it is originally a boy name, I could never use it on a boy nowadays. And I'd actually side eye someone who did use it on a boy. It's just so on trend right now to use for girls.
I like it for a girl. You can "fight back" to make it a boys name if you want but people are probably going to think it's a girls name for quite some time still.
I know it may technically be unisex but I've only ever heard it on a girl and these days it's a pretty trendy girl name so he would probably be the only boy Harper he comes across. That would be a deal breaker for me.
So far I've only heard it on girls but I agree it does seem more masculine. I'm not a huge fan of it on either sex either though; the whole last name as first names trend is overdone IMO.
I think it is super trendy and dislike it for either sex. Its a last name. And even though I dont find it feminine, I've only seen this used on girls so I think most would assume he was a girl based on the name.
