If there was a mother in law of the year award, mine deserves the prize!
After finding out today was my last day to eat carbs/sugar (due to my recent diagnosis and order to maintain a low carb/sugar diet) she made me all of my favorite foods for her 4th of July picnic.
I'm talking, pineapple upside down cake, grilled potatoes, choc. covered strawberries, 5 layer dip, bread, sangria, beer... the works! When I walked in she said, "Now do I take care of my Sarah or what?"
She also handed me a netbook to use until I can afford my surface tablet I'm getting. (My laptop died earlier this week.)
I wanted to cry. She is so good to me.

Sansa Salad
Posted by Chelsea MC
All the while the courses came and went. A thick soup of barley and venison. Salads of sweetgrass, spinach, and plums, sprinkled with crushed nuts. I: 251
Cooks Notes: For our version of this salad, we used baby spinach, lemon grass, some mint leaves, diced plums, and candied walnuts. We sprinkled the whole thing with raspberry vinaigrette a personal favorite. We then garnished with violets high in vitamin C!, as suggested in the original recipe.
Feel free to make your version as the directions specify, or use any variation of these ingredients to come up with your own personal salat. Toss with vinegar, oil, and a pinch of salt, and youre ready to serve! The primroses and violets can be mixed in with the salad, or used as a garnish on top.
Original Ingredients:
parsley
sage
green garlic
scallions
lettuce
leek
spinach
borage I didn't use this.
mint
primroses I didn't use this.
violets I didn't use this.
porrettes green onions, scallions, young leeks
fenneland garden cress
rosemary
We added grapes to the salad.

I truly love this lady, she definitely took me under her wing as a daughter from day one.
May be worth a shot. That's a lot of new ingredients for me, I'm always up for trying new things! Thanks!!
