My UO today is that I hate people who set off their own fireworks in populated neighborhoods. Particularly those who do so around midnight. They're dangerous, loud and annoying, and never particularly spectacular anyway. Stick to sparklers, people.

Not a UO with me. DS cannot go to sleep until around 12 the last couple nights because of them.

i agree! At our old home we would always end up with holes in our screened in enclosure from neighbors Boyle rockets. Plus the dogs FREAK.

While I of course feel awful about the Trayvon Martin case, I'm not overly interested in the Zimmerman trial coverage.
I also feel badly for someone losing his life. I am also a strong believer in the 2nd amendment and responsible gun ownership. I have a feeling he will walk, possibly all together. I guess my related UO is that the state is only prosecuting based on public outcry. The holes in their case are HUGE.

We did this in college and I feel bad about it now.

Let me start by saying, I would never complain about having a healthy baby, whatever time of year, but I totally disagree about May being a great month to have a baby. Everyone told me what a great time of year to have a baby
I can't do very much with my toddler, even though the weather is nice. Sometimes we cant even go in backyard or for walk because it is too hot for baby. Also, I'm too fat to wear all my cute summer clothes and bathing suits.
If I could pick, I'd have a winter baby so by the time summer came around things would be a little easier.
This might be fueled by the fact that DH and DS1 are on a sailboat right now and it's gorgeous out. I'm home with DS2, snuggling, which is great, but I'd like to enjoy the summer too. Boo, poor me
I think the trend of taking toddler girls to the spa for a mani pedi is ridiculous.
This is a trend? Blech. A bit too "Toddlers and Tiaras" for my taste.
A former co worker posted on Facebook pictures of her daughter's spa day.... In preparation for her THIRD birthday party. Mani, pedi, little updo. Ridic. Another friend took her one year old for a pedi. Lots of nail places now have "kid chairs" for pedis that look like animals or a throne with a pink princess crown. Sick.

I have to agree. My friends and family are enjoying summer and I'm...not. at least the weather isn't all that nice here yet.

My UO is that I hate the stickers people put on the back windshield of everyone in their family and their pets. It's your family, not status symbols or accessories.

Totally 100 agree. This is my second spring baby and I told DH that if we have another it won't be in the spring. I miss all my summer clothes and having to put on a bathing suit is just cruel and unusual punishment.
Yea, I thought that May was a great time to have a baby but I am totally missing summer, the beach, picnics, etc.
I don't like the neighborhood fireworks either, I'm always afraid they'll set my house on fire. And it's not fair to the dogs.
I take my 3 yo to get her nails and toes done and she absolutely loves it. I don't think there is anything wrong with it ? She sees me doing it and of course she wants to have it done too, I'm not parading her around on a stage with it. That comparison is taking it a little far cuz in my unpopular opinion I think kid beauty pageants are a joke. yes,..yes you're kid is beautiful ... Here is your validation and a trophy .

I agree. There is a huge difference between a mother/daughter mani/pedi and entering your kid in a beauty pageant.

I thought they were stupid until I had a3 year old girl who loves having her toes done and is so into it we bought flowers for the front yard that match her piggie polish.
I also think taking a 3 year old to a movie is nuts but my sister really wants us to take our kids and I am considering it.

I agree because it is way too hot right now for us to go to the 4th of July celebrations happening right now! Even at night it is not supposed to cool down enough.
But on the other hand, at least there are days when we can get out for a walk... couldn't do that in winter. My brother said it was rough having a baby in October with the days being so short - he said there were times he couldn't tell if it was day or night, since LO was up all the time. I think I'd feel more "stuck" in the winter.
I had a November baby and a February baby and I found both of those months easier than May. I still managed to get out with them amd it can be pretty cold here in February. Toronto i found it easier to wear winter clothes with a bit of extra weight, can't hide much in the summer. I'll take a baby in any month but if I had to choose I liked cold months better by far.

I guess I was exaggerating in making that comparison. I just hate the glittery princess crap for little girls and am not too high maintenance myself, so taking my little girls for professional mani pedis is not something I'd be likely to do. Sorry if I offended anyone.

Yup yup! The weather has been either rain or hot and humid. Definitely disappointing. Plus now I wish LO was older so he can have fun and splash around in a kiddie pool.

If I hear anything about how easy it is to be a sahm to a 1 month old anymore I'm going to freak out. No I don't go to get a manicure and go shopping. I actually have to take care if my child.
