I posted on Facebook last night how excited I was to take our daughter to see the fireworks and my mil called me saying that I was such a horrible person for going to see fireworks because the baby can hear now and she could get scared...lol thoughts.

    Ridiculousness.  The sounds are muffled to baby anyways, it's fine!

    You're fine. I went when i was 8 months pregnant with DS and took him last year when he was 10 months old. He is not scarred for life. Enjoy!!

    I learned yesterday that the womb is always at least as loud as a running vacuum cleaner near baby's head!  If you're worried, take a pillow to hug -- that's what I was told when I went to see drag races.

    If this makes you a horrible person, I would hate to hear her opinions about your approach to care when the baby is out of the womb.  I didn't even think about fireworks noise harming my little nugget.  I think she'll be ok!

    I wouldn't be worried about the sound, but I thought fireworks had been known to cause pregnant women to go in to labor? No, just an old wives tale? I do have a friend that gave birth to her twins super early last year on July 5th....

    I went to a concert last week (it was a christian rock band, at a church, so it wasn't hard core), but we were like 5 rows back and it was very loud... I just figured she'd be jamming out with me :)
