Anyone's babe sleeping through the night? My son is eating about every 1.5 to 2 hours during the day, but is still up every 3 hours at night. I'm not working, so at least I can nap during the day, but 4 months in, I'm really feeling the effects...
Yes, my BF'd baby has been STTN since about 5 weeks (with a few exceptions, of course). Is he up to eat every 3 hours, or just playing? I don't think a 4 month old should physiologically need to eat that often at night, especially if he's nursing every 1.5-2 hours during the day as well.
I'm sorry for your lack of sleep, that's really tough!
PCOS with long, irregular cycles First round of Clomid in May 2012= BFP #1, DD born January 2013 BFP #2 in January 2014, DS born September 2014
My son just started this past week. He is 21 weeks. On Tuesday he was up his normal 11 and 3. On Wednesday he was just up at 3. By Thursday he had no MOTN wake ups. It was really very sudden.
My first didn't STTN until a couple of months ago. He's 2.5 yrs! DS2 will sometimes sleep all night (from about 12:00-6:00), but sometimes, like last night, he's up every 2 hrs to eat. It is what it is. During growth spurts, teething, new milestones, etc, they very well may need to eat at night to make up for being too distracted to eat well during the day. For moms that work, sometimes baby reverse cycles and chooses to eat the bulk of his food at night with mom instead of the babysitter. It's perfectly normal for a baby this age to still wake up multiple times per night to eat. Our solution is not for everyone, but I choose to bedshare. I never get out of bed at night (unless I need to tend to the other child), just feed the baby laying down and then go back to sleep.
We just moved Eina out of the cosleeper/our bed into her crib in her room. She's 4.5 months. We both felt it was time because she was stirring a lot more, and so were we. As a result of the move, we are all sleeping much better! I think with her right next to me, I tended to her more than she really needed. I'd feed her, but now I'm thinking she didn't need to eat as much as I thought she did. Now with her in her own room, she goes from 10-5 without eating, then I go get her to feed her and snuggle in our bed. I feel like she's saying thank you for giving her more space and peace and quiet
DD technically STTN. We co-sleep. She searches for my breast in her sleep an I give it to her in my sleep. We both barely wake up for this. It happens maybe three times in her 12 hr. average night. She eats at these times but if she slept on her own she might only eat once at the beginning and once at the end with a 6-7 hour stretch ON.
The reason she doesn't sleep on her own is that she can only fall into a deep sleep on or next to me. When I put her in her crib from that she wakes after 40-60 minutes tops. I could work with her and get her to do it but the stress of everything else (DH with a slipped disk and acute sciatica and work stresses, one elderly cat with renal failure and needing daily fluid injections, the other elderly cat with a bladder infection and blood in his urine, cooking all our meals from scratch, baby feeding every one to two hours, plus regular home and car maintenance) I'd rather not add to the list. co-sleeping allows me to sleep fairly well very night.
As it is I put her to bed, have about 4 hours to myself, get at least as much sleep as I did while pregnant and I don't have to deal with adjusting her to a different sleep situation right now.
My LO is a bit younger than yours (3.75 months old) but I think every baby is different and your situation seems normal. Unfortunately I have no solutions and without knowing your baby and your sleep routines I couldn't begin to offer advice, but I hope my rambling has helped or at least you're not alone.
E does sleep TTN. We co-sleep in my bed. I put him to bed around 8-8:30 ish. I sometimes let him dream feed at midnight and he usually wakes between 5 and 6 to eat and goes right back to sleep til around 7-8 and I feed him then. Sometimes he'll get up for the day at that time and sometimes he'll go back to sleep for another hour. During the day he eats every 3-4 hrs. HTH. Sorry about ur lack of sleep tho, that sucks. Hope it gets better soon!
My DD was sleeping pretty well but hit the 4 month sleep regression like a brick wall. She's up nearly every 2 hours most nights. Sometimes it's better, other times worse. This has been going on 4 weeks and I'm just constantly hoping it starts to relent. Otherwise, I'm facing having to do some sleep training and I just don't think my heart is in it yet.
My LO STTN. She feeds around 8:30 and sleeps till 6 or 7. Some nights are different but that's generally what happens. She is in the rock and play next to me. So sometimes I have to rock her or give her the paci if she is getting fussy in her sleep.

He is usually up to eat. I always try to replace the pacifier first, but he just loses his mind until he eats. He eats a decent amount, usually, so I don't think it's just a comfort thing. I suppose it's just the way he sleeps, but I figured I'd check in with everyone else. :
Definitely jealous of your STTN babe, but we'll get there eventually!

This was my DS until about 5 nights ago and he "magically" started sleeping from 9ish to somewhere between 4-6 and then back down until about 9. I'm hoping it lasts, we were in that terrible pattern for 5 or 6 weeks!
I've been breastfeeding and pumping and my little girl has been sleeping through the night since 6 weeks. For the past few weeks, she's made her last meal around 7 and then doesn't eat again until 630-7ish the next morning! We are blessed with #1!
Before the 4 month wakeful dd would go down at 8 or 9, wake to nurse at around 4 or 5. Then sleep till about 7 or 8 till she was ready to eat again. Well now she wakes starved at around 1 or 2 then again around 5. That time she doesn't really go into a deep sleep, just tossing in my arms till 7ish. I thank God everyday I am blessed enough to stay home. Life would be horrible. Thankfully ds was and still is a great sleeper.
