QOTW: Any big plans for 4th of July next week? I'm a little annoyed that it falls on a Thursday and I have to go back to work the next day, but oh well. For the non-Americans, any fun weekend plans?

?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~

Anitaflora: sorry about the BFNs. ((hugs)) Are you still in the TWW?

buggirl72: Have you O'd yet? I'm rooting for you that the timing works out on this cycle! Did you finalize the new place yet? Hope you're caught up on studying. I'm sure you're looking forward to a day off - I'm exhausted just thinking about all the stuff going on in your life right now!

Eliz77: Hope you're doing well this week and finding some fun things to take your mind off TTA

gscoville: I see you're in your TWW...maybe by next week you'll have some good news to share with us. Keeping you in my thoughts!

Junebug060609: Good luck to you too in your tww! How did your appointment go this week with the RE?

katib77: Did you manage to make the call on Monday? I totally get what you're saying. It took us a very long time to decide to call an RE, and even when I had made the appointment, DH was very reluctant to admit we "needed" it. But I figure they are there to help, so even if you decide to keep trying on your own, they will support you and might be able to help things along. ((hugs))

kiki4: how's it going? Looks like you're joining several of us in the TWW.

tuscanbride2007: Just curious, is the RE doing any tests for 'egg quality' or just guessing? Looks like you might be ready to O soon... do you normally use opks too or just chart?

RN536: Did you O yet?

VeganLady: Sorry about CD1 ((big hugs)) How are you doing this week?

************

1220winterbride, Ashellypnut, hmlvlt, kelley72, kmcp, msAmandaPants: hope you're all doing well; please feel free to update us on how you're doing.

Hi there! Hope all is well with you. I had a positive OPK on Wednesday and a temp rise this am so I think I Oed yesterday. Happy that we can take a break with BDing. Lol Isn't that sad! I asked my DH if he felt like he was 20 again? 4th plans: We are going to cape cod for a week, leave tomorrow. My childhood friend and her family are coming too so I'm so excited. Should be fun and a nice way to spend part of the 2WW. Hope everyone has a great 4th!

DH & I get relieved when we can take a break from BDing too... yeah, definitely not in my 20s anymore!

Cape Cod sounds nice, I've never been. Have fun!

I keep forgetting to post my own update! Ooops.

  • I always forget to post my own update. I'm doing okay... starting to feel the crampiness that I get before AF shows, but my temps are pretty high (still not sure whether it's a true high or just the crazy heat/weather - I hate the noise of the a/c so we've been keeping it on low at night). I'll probably test tomorrow morning if AF doesn't show. This is my last chance to get a BFP before both my edds arrive and I'm not sure how I feel about passing the 2-year mark on the first one and still not having a baby. (cue tiny violins here)

BUT - I have a long overdue haircut scheduled for tomorrow! No plans for the fourth yet, probably just grill something out on our patio or go to my in-laws.

  • Hi Ellajune! Thank you for running the check-in this week. I know your busy time is right around the corner and appreciate the help. You are doing a fantastic job!

RN - yay for the temp rise! I was thinking today that TTC would be so much easier if we did not have to worry about timing BDing or if we were young and just went at like rabbits all the time so it would not be big change.

Ellajune - (((hugs))) for the double EDDs. That is just so hard. I'm trying to work on not letting all of these dates have meaning in terms of TTC. There is just too much stress already. We shall see how I do with that in another month or so.

pintobean - Welcome! I'm so sorry for your loss but you have found a great place here.

    My update:

buggirl72: Have you O'd yet? I'm rooting for you that the timing works out on this cycle! Did you finalize the new place yet? Hope you're caught up on studying. I'm sure you're looking forward to a day off - I'm exhausted just thinking about all the stuff going on in your life right now!

I don't think I have but those high temps make it confusing! The clomid definitely raised my resting temp but I should see a drop tonight or tomorrow. I'm testing with OPKs and other than false positives in the early a.m., I'm getting clear negatives.  It looks like Sunday will be u/s day and I'll find out when to trigger.  I'm trying to not be nervous about the timing because it is out of our hands.

We are putting in an application on a place! It's available the weekend we are planning on moving so that is perfect.  We feel pretty good about it and it will be nice to have that tied up.

Studying is crazy. It's the best way to put it.  I need a full day off from it but I don't think that is going to happen until after the test.

QOTW - We are going to grill.  DH is going to make Kansas City ribs.  He's a great griller but for some reason, he has had terrible luck with these so we will probably have some back-up hotdogs just in case.  The 4th is also technically my last day off from studying on my schedule but I'm a day and a half behind so I'll probably use it to catch up.

  • Hi everyone!

I need to apologize to everyone for being MIA. I've been lurking every day on the boards, but the near constant crazy (phishing, newbs, etc.) has been really hard for me. I've been a fairly suckyTTCALer, but try to jump in and offer support where and when I can.  Honestly, I'm struggling. My fake EDD is coming in July. I say fake because it turns out that it was never a baby, only a tumor (molar pregnancy). It is messing with my head because I'm grieving something that never really existed in the first place, but which still feels like a big loss. I may be coming off the bench in August (still controversial) and the closer I get to that, the more basket-casey/emotional I get about the hill I have to climb--AMA with DOR and two failed pregnancies--and terrified about what lies ahead. bleh.

Big ((((hugs))) to all that need them.

Me: 36 yo, TTC #1 since Feb. 2012
    BFP #1, 3/12, EDD 11/9/12, MMC 3/27/12, D&C 4/10/12

IUI #1, 8/16/13 Femara + Menopur, 3 mature follicles, BFN
IUI #2 (back-to-back, 9/12/13 and 9/13/13) Femara + Menopur, four mature follicles, BFFN
IUI #3, 10/8/13 Femara + Menopur, six mature follicles, BFN

BFP #3, 12/9/2013, while on treatment break, EDD: 8/22/2014  Please stick and grow, LO!

Additional Dx: hypothyroidism, TgAb positive & anti-TPO positive, POR/DOR (2/2013), and suspected endometriosis

The first thing I did when I saw you responded was say "Yay!!!!!" You are not a sucky TTCALer! You had a lot of sh!t thrown at you and you have handled it beautifully. There is never anything wrong with saying the board is overwhelming and you need to take a step back.

And (((hugs))) for the EDD. It's not a fake one. You got a +HPT, you had hope and dreams for that baby and it ended up as a loss. Grieve and don't feel like you should not.

I can only imagine just how incredibly scary the next steps in this process are for you.  We are here for you. Don't forget that.

    Hi everybody, and welcome Pintobean.

I'm doing OK. I hadn't been that optimistic for this cycle so CD1 wasn't a big surprise or disappointment. This week is the final week of my 30-day yoga challenge so I'm feeling really good about myself. Yoga is really helping me stay positive. My body is powerful and healthy, not broken.

We are headed to the River on the 4th weekend. Jetskis, maybe some wakeboarding, definitely some beer. Just what the doctor ordered.

Hugs to all who need them, FX for the two-week waiters!

In the past few months I've gotten back into yoga too and even though I usually only go 1-2x a week right now, I totally agree that it's a mental and physical release. I love the mantra above... I'm going to steal it and repeat it to myself everyday.

    Have fun next week!

  • Since I'm new didn't really check in but just wanted to say 4th of July I'm planning to have a pool part at my house. My DH and DS will be leaving me Sunday for a week to go to boyscouts camp. I'm a little nervous since only one person knows I just had a mc and I have to get things ready by myself and pretend I'm ok. Also I've been off my baclofen for 7 weeks and after the mc my muscles have really been acting up so walking is very difficult for me right now. Hopefully it will only take a few more days for it to get in my system so I can get some relief. So this week will be mentally and physically challenging. I just thought having something to plan for will keep me off the couch and from being depressed while they are gone.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Hi ladies! Sorry I'm so late to the party. It's just been a really hectic and overall pretty crappy day.

I won't bore you with all the details [for once HA! That's completely meant as a jab at myself for those of you that know what ridiculously long posts I end up writing sometimes ;] ]

But will just say that the BFNs suck big time as a backdrop to everything else going on. I decided to give myself one more day of progesterone just in case. I guess I'm a little confused on when they want me to count my 14 days from. So anyway, after today will actually be being on it be on it 14 days and take me to 16dpo tomorrow morning. Testing once more in the morning just in case even though I am prepared for disappointment.

Then it's off to get my dad to bring him down here for a week. So minimum six hours in the car. Hopefully it will go smoothly and quickly.

    Well that's it for me.

Thanks so much for the check in ella!

Huge, huge hugs to everyone that needs one [especially thinking of you MsAmanda]. Lots of love to all welcome to the newbies lots of good wishes all around for a great week ahead.

Hello ladies....well, at the moment, it looks like I O'd, but seeing as how it appeared that way earlier this cycle, I'll be skeptical until 8-9 dpo. DH and I have been talking about how long to keep trying. DS starts preschool in August, so I'm just not sure what to do. It's been 3 years and I'm tired of trying, but at the same time, how do you give up on something you want so much? I guess at this point, we'll just wait and see what happens with this cycle.

We don't have plans for the 4th yet. We've talked about going up to the Grand Canyon and camping for a night - camping is so NOT my thing, so I'd only be good for one night. If we don't go, we'll do our best to stay cool.

((hugs)) for any who need them.

I'm sorry I'm late to check in. We got some likely life changing news about ds yesterday, and I'm reeling.

The RE appt was cancelled. He called in sick. It is rescheduled for July 19. I'm trying to coordinate doing CD3 bw...but that would fall on the holiday weekend...

In a bad place ladies, really hoping for some good news soon. After the news we got this week, I'm not even sure if a bfp would be the best thing right now...but that ball is already in play and I'll gladly embrace it if I am blessed.

  • A bit late, but I'd like to join.  I just turned 35 in May.  Was pretty excited to get pregnant just before my birthday in April...but so much for that.  We are just hitting our 2-year anniversary of TTC #1.  Having dealt with a long history of IF treatments (due to being in a same-sex marriage, not an IF diagnosis, but at this point the failed cycles speak for themselves) and now two losses in 6 months, the whole AMA thing just feels like yet another strike against us.  I've been doing pretty well at staying positive since this loss, but with my first EDD coming up and being benched until probably September, I think it's going to be kind of a rough summer.

We are having a bunch of friends over for a pre-4th BBQ tomorrow, but we're not doing anything on the actual 4th or that weekend.  My wife works on the 4th, 5th, and 7th (she's in retail), I work on the 5th, my family is going out of town to attend a baby shower I bailed on, and I'm not a big fan of the 4th (crowds, fireworks, etc).  But we are getting a new cat this Sunday, so I'll spend my time off getting to know her. :)

Hugs to all of you.  Hope you enjoy your weekend.

  • Hi Ladies, Sorry Ellajune I think I might have been unclear in my last update...I've been seeing an RE for three years now.  My hesitation to call was about making the jump from IUI to IVF because of how mentally draining that move is.  IVF is a LOT more involved both logistically as well as emotionally.  But yes, I finally made the call.  We can't have our consult until July 29th but that's OK because I was thinking Sept or October for the cycle and will need a month prior for BCP and or lupron.  And I discussed with the nurse needing a saline sono and redo my AMH in the next month before our appointment so everything will be up to date.  So we're on track for fall IVF.

ETA QOTW:  I have to work on the fourth from 3-10:30pm so my MIL is having a afternoon BBQ so I can attend and people can go to other parties after hers.  I manage cashiers at a super Tar.get so it will be a slooooow night except for some beer runs.

As someone who made that move about 6 months ago, I can say once you get started it's not as bad as it seems like it will be and it's worth it for the significantly increased odds!  Hope IVF does the trick for you.  I'm happy to answer questions if you have any...and of course you know about the IF board, which is a great resource.

(((hugs))) and welcome to the 35+ crowd.  Even though you are now 35, if you responded well to previous IVF cycles then hopefully not much has changed or will before September.

If I remember correctly, your RE wanted to do chromosome testing on both you and your donor? I hope they get you some answers so you and YW can move forward.

I'm glad you made the call (((hugs))).  Has your RE had you on CoQ10 or anything that might help your AMH? I know technically nothing is supposed to help that number but  mine did go up and I've seen others post that they had an increase also.

  • Thanks Bug and B&C - I have not taken CoQ10 since the first half of our last IUI cycle.  I figure if we're not doing IVF until Sept or Oct that I could stop (and I was taking it on my own, my RE had never mentioned it).  I know there is the IF board but 3T has been my home board so since I have a hard time being a frequent poster here I know I couldn't add a third board to my list.  I will say that I am part of two private FB groups.  One from a group of ladies I met on TTGP four years ago where over half moved on to 3T with me so there are several IVF gals and another group from 3T that all were on the board two years ago so I have many for support (and free drugs LOL).  But I'm sure if I have any questions -  I love as much input as I can get my hands on so I'll take you up.

I do know I'll be able to do IVF emotionally because well - I've made it these past four years and five IUIs and one m/c and have learned  I'm stronger then I ever thought.  But I did need that two weeks to "mourn" having to move on from IUI.  I think after #4 worked but then ended in m/c I just felt like #5 would be the magic one.  :::shrugs::::  Now that I finally made the call, I'm feeling better about it.

I understand about adding another board and your 3T gals sound amazing. The IF check-in on this board is pretty popular (totally not the right word I'm looking for) and we have gone through waves on this check-in with members who are doing IVF.  There is lots of knowledge floating around.

I'm trying to remember on the CoQ10 if my RE said it was something that takes a couple months to make a difference or not.  I see him on Wednesday and will try to remember to ask him about that. He cited some studies when he recommended that I and my husband start taking it (300/day) and it's probably been the most consistent vitamin that I've seen other TTCALers say they have been told to take by their REs.
