***What went well this week?***

Rory has mastered the rolling thing and instead of getting stuck and needing assistance multiple times a night, he will comfortably fall asleep on his tummy, which has allowed night sleep to get back to where we were before the 4 month regression - yay!

We also made it to our library singalong class again this week and it was great fun!

What went well for you ladies?

  • Ds is finally sttn again.

On another note, dd peed and pooed onthe potty
  • DS and I had an outing this week where we left the house at 9:30 and got back around 1. We went to his baby music class, then the shopping outlets. I was nervous about how he'd do with car naps and behaving while we were shopping for outfits for our family portraits this coming week, but he did great! He was a little cranky as we were headed home, but he conked out in the car. It's getting a little easier to be out with him now, so I'm starting to feel like I can have a life again!

Best feeling ever!! Even if we go out for an hour and a half I feel on top of the world!

DD is a mommas girl and very clingy around bigger crowds. We had a family BBQ with people she hadn't seen since Easter, when she screamed her head off whenever someone came near her. This time however she let everyone hold her and was giggling all day long, 8hr event! I only needed to hold her when she nursed! I was a proud momma for sure and even drank a glass of sangria.

  • My SIL is getting married today, so we were away from home all day yesterday.  LO did great!  He got in two really good naps (another SIL lent us her bedroom at the rented house we were at for his naps) and had a great time meeting all of the family he hadn't met yet.  There were a ton of people around (at least 30 by the end of the day) and he handled like a champ until just before we left, when he got overwhelmed by all the faces vying for his attention.  Can't blame him though!

Oh!  And he went "swimming" for the first time with daddy yesterday too.  So cute!

  • I have two: Ryan finally learned to roll back to tummy on Sunday. The first time he did it we didn't see it! Now he's obsessed. Also, he has spent 5 full nights in the crib, although with an extra wake-up that I hope goes away soon! I thought the transition would never happen so I'm glad we stuck with it.
  • We took a 6 hour flight to England and he did not make a sound. Everyone was impressed.
  • To go off TeacherClark's post from yesterday about cat naps making a better nights' sleep, the last two nights have been wonderful with E only waking up twice too nurse.
E has been sleeping horribly the last few weeks and to add insult to injury, she decided that she was through with naps. I'm talking a 30 minute nap for the entire day. Well, since she's stopped napping during the day she's exhausted by bedtime. She's only been waking up twice to eat during the night and sleeps in until 9 or 10 in the morning. I just don't even know what to do with myself besides to jump up and down with joy.

  • We finally (hopefully) may have discovered what has been keeping DD up all night on top of the 4 month sleep regression- she may have been hungry. I finally got some sleep last night and didn't wake up like a grump for the first time in 3 weeks!

  • After DH's back injury and DD's growth spurt I was wiped out and my house was a wreck. This week has been different. DH is still down for the count, but getting better. DD is back to her normal sleeping patterns (yay naps!!!) and I can get things done so all my backed up chores are caught up and I've been able to pick up DH's slack.

I will be so glad in six months or so when he is all mended and basically back to normal but I wish his back had gone out at a different date than when we have a new first baby!

Also, my internet was out last week but DD started rolling from back to tummy on her right side (early last week) and now that is all she wants to do.

In the am she wakes up and rolls, props herself up and starts babbling! She rolls away during diaper changes (on the floor, we have no table) and pees on the floor! She rolls over when I put her down to nurse for a nap and then starts sucking on her arm! She. Won't. Stop. Rolling.

She'll roll all the way across the floor and I wonder if she'll ever crawl b/c she can get around just by rolling! We have hard woods so I have to follow her around with yoga blankets and put one in front of where she will roll next. I'm so proud but I am exhausted!

  • DD had a great time at her first big party last Saturday! She did great on the drive and charmed everyone there. She also had a good four month check up this week.

She's just now really starting to get excited about bath time. She likes to splash about and laughs and smiles at us while she does it. It melts my heart when she grins and splashes about.

Haha! Awww! DS just started splashing too. Think I'll have to start wearing a raincoat on bath nights!

  • We are officially able to put DS down awake for all sleeps with no sleep training. He's a great little self soother. Normally I wouldn't "brag" about something like this but I'm so proud of him!

DD5 months has been sitting up unassisted, using her hands to hold herself up, for the last 2 weeks. Today, she just sat right up chewing both of her hands. Then she reached down, grabbed a toy, then played with it for about 2 minutes without falling. I was amazed that she stayed upright so long without putting any weight on her hands!
