Never hold it. What about taping a black trash bag? I just don't want him waking at 5:30
I have a darkening shade on my son's window. I went to Joanne's fabric store and bought enough to cover the window and it works great. Not too expensive either.
they have blackout shades at lowes and home depot, i think. they are made of black paper, are pleated and have tape at the top. just cut it to the size you need, peel the paper to expose the tape and stick to top of window. you can take a clothespin to pinch it back during the day.
We bring contractor trash bags and cut them open and duct tape to windows. We can leave one edge open so it isn't totally pitch black. The redi shades seems like a good possibility thought probably leave some gap along the sides.
