Girl's Middle Name

DH and I won't be trying for another year or so, but if we have another girl we would really like to honor our mothers and make that part of a middle name.

DH's mother's middle name is Ann and my mother's first name is Marilyn. We were thinking of a middle name Annilyn it would be pronounced anna lyn. Does the spelling seem right?

I prefer the spelling Annalynn. Have you considered Mariann or Marianne instead?

OP...don't name your DD anything with the word anal in it.

I like the suggestion of Marianne.

When I look at Analyn spelled out all I see is 'anal'. Maybe I'm just over thinking it. Annalyn might work though.

I feel like Mariann makes more sense, but it is just a middle name so if you prefer Annilyn I wouldn't side eye it.

I have thought about Marianne and I think it's a nice name, but I have an Aunt named that, so I think that's why I never really considered it. Though she spells it Maryann, so maybe that's enough of a distinction. Thanks!
