Since we're on fashion today, my UO is that I think super high platform shoes look ridiculous, especially if they have skinny heels. (If they have fat heels then you just look like an extra from an Austin Powers movie). Someone please explain to me why these are sexy:

Who doesn't want their sticking out, while feeling incredibly uncomfortable because their feet are on fire? Sounds like a good time to me.

Sorry, I love gifs... and posted one before I read this, not to be annoying.
It's ok SuperKim... I love gifs too. I'm kind of addicted and admit that I probably do overuse them(will try to be more mindful that maybe not everyone enjoys them).
As far as CBs, I've never had one, but I've seen others do it. I did post asking for some today as I am headed into my EDD month, so it just might be nice to have some women who are dedicated to checking on each other this cycle with me...For me, it's just another possibility to get to know a few ladies on the board a little better. I know they can't be consistent month to month for the most part, but sometimes that extra person saying "Hey, how are thing's going with you right now" just helps me out.

(((HUGS))) for your EDD month. I agree, it's nice to check in with a smaller group and get to know a few ladies better, plus I feel like it makes the cycle go by faster. I also think it's nice to connect with a group on CD 1 or right around there when you are feeling down.
I didn't think this was a UO until I saw the other posts on the pet thread but...
Rats are NOT pets. They are gross vermin. Same goes for mice. Ew!

doing things I'll regret (not that I would, but that seems to be the appeal for many)

This is off-topic, but I will share it anyway because your comment reminded me. Every year at the university where I work the Chancellor honors a professor who's done some groundbreaking research and the person gives a talk on their work.A couple of years ago it was a scientist who did research on the maternal instincts of rats. Soooooo... we always request some images we might be able to use in the poster and invitations, but in her case, I didn't use any of the rats because... well... who wants to look at rats poster-size. She wanted to know why we didn't have a rat in the design... and then she responded with some more photos of rats, and the caption "These are cute rats!" (they were not) We ended up compromising and using a silhouette of a rat in the design instead. Everybody was happy.
And yeah, I know some of you were picturing this when I said Chancellor's Award:
But it's never that exciting, believe me.

You guys are there for work?
Yes. MH's first job out of law school landed us here and we've been trying to get out of here for about 3 years. But, every place he'd like to work is on a hiring freeze, darn govt.!
Me too. I also can't stand potluck meals (like at church or family reunion). All I can think about is, did the person who made this wash their hands after using the bathroom? or did they lick their fingers while making it? Yuck!

Haha! I respect that. That could be true for any food not prepared in your own home, though. We usually use hand sanitizer after each trip, which is another unpopular habit! I will say there is quite a difference in clientele between a fancy buffet and say....Golden Corral.
Just to play devil's advocate here... does that mean you never eat out at a restaurant or eat food prepared by anyone other than yourself? Because all food is handled by other people if you want to really nitpick. And I will also disagree on the fancy food places vs. fast food places. Sure, the clientele might be different and might not be touching your food, but the kitchens of fancy-food places are staffed with ordinary people even if the "chef" is someone famous. So..... you never know who's been doing what with your food if you really want to think of it that way.

Absolutely. It's just easier to forget about in a fancier place, as opposed to kids running around everywhere without shoes (I've seen it--we don't go there anymore!)
I think about food handling a lot, especially since I'm always the person who finds weird crap on their food at a restaurant - like the hair, and other gross stuff - in both fancy and casual restaurants.
But my main thing with potluck is I think of what I touch at home when making my own food, licking my fingers, etc. And it grosses me out to think of other people doing it, then giving it to me to eat. I even hate eating at my in-laws or parents for the same reason. My gripe with buffets are the customers, sneezing, picking boogers, coughing, etc. then grabbing the same serving spoon I have to touch, or not even using the serving utensils. The fancier buffets where someone serves you makes me feel a little better.

So you should be good at the K&W because they serve you and there is a big glass to block the boogers!! And how can you get fancier than the K&W eating with the blue hairs?! Thems good eats.

This is part of my gripe with buffets, and the other part is the idea of food cooked in masses grosses me out! I don't eat at any buffet. I do eat out, but honestly, not very often.

Since we're on fashion today, my UO is that I think super high platform shoes look ridiculous, especially if they have skinny heels. (If they have fat heels then you just look like an extra from an Austin Powers movie). Someone please explain to me why these are sexy:

PgAL and PAL always welcome...This is off-topic, but I will share it anyway because your comment reminded me.

Me too. I also can't stand potluck meals (like at church or family reunion). All I can think about is, did the person who made this wash their hands after using the bathroom? or did they lick their fingers while making it? Yuck!
