So my betas are as follows:

6/11 @ 14dpiui - 9

6/13 - 25

6/17 - 160

6/21 -480 (This is where I was told this is not viable and to stop progesterone)

6/24 - 1081

I plugged these #'s into the Baby Med Beta Calculator and although not great and still low, it's still within a normal range. Should I keep taking progesterone? The nurse called last night with the numbers and I failed to ask her. Would you keep taking it? Can't hurt, right? Honestly I made peace when I got the 480 call. I've been spotting, but it's light pink and brown and only when I wipe. Could this just be a late bloomer? A vanishing twin? Argh!! I just wish it was one way or the other so I wasn't stuck in the middle!! Thanks ladies! U/S is scheduled for Wed. and I'll know more then, but I don't know whether or not to start up the meds again.

I would keep taking the progesterone. It certainly won't hurt anything, and since your beta is still rising there is still a chance this might be it! I don't know a whole lot about the exact numbers, but betas getting higher generally means something is going on. Good luck at your ultrasound, I hope you get good news!

I would keep taking the progesterone. Because you don't ever want to wonder what if? Like what if I took it - would it have made a difference? I was also told that the baby was not viable and stopped taking my meds. And the dr was wrong

But now that the baby is measuring small I wonder if I took those meds for the 4 days that I did not would it have made a difference. I hope with all of my heart that the dr. is wrong for you too. Sending you lots of thoughts and prayers!

I would keep taking it also. It will not hurt anything and I would also wonder well what if I didn't stop? I would call your nurse ASAP too... that last beta is high exp to not be "viable"

Thanks. I went through each beta interval and although the dbling time does slow down, its well within the 4872hour range. The average doubling time from1st to last beta is 45 hours. The last two were about 60hrs doubling time. I think taking the progesterone is worth it.

I stopped taking my progesterone in May after getting a few less than optimal betas and not one day goes by that I don't wonder what would have happened if I kept taking it. Keep taking it. You won't regret staying on it, but you may always question your decision if you stop. I know it sucks, and nobody really wants to be on it, but trust me, it's easier to deal with than the alternative. Good Luck, and I'm sorry you are going through this.

I really think there is nothing worse then being in Beta hell. I too would continue to take it. I'm so sorry you are going through this. I've been there and its so not fun. My betas started low but did rise appropriately but I started spotting soon after my BFP. But I continued the crinone till we knew for sure that baby didn't make it. Sending T&P's your way... hugs
