My husband and I are moving to Pittsburgh in 3 weeks for his job. I am currently 18 weeks pregnant and I see a MFM specialist here in DC that is amazingI'm sad to have to leave them. They didn't have any recommendations for us other than to look for someone at Magee. My husband will be working for UPMC so we should go to one of their doctors. I'm having my 20 week appointment right before we move, so I won't be due for another for a little while. Does anyone have a recommendation for a MFM with Magee?
I was sent to MFM with my first and just went to whatever doctor was assigned to me at Magee for gestational diabetes. I thought they were great overall, no complaints. So I would just call the MFM department and see who has the first appointment!
I go through MFM at Magee. They have several offices located near me, so I don't have to drive into Oakland for every visit. I see Katherine Himes. She's a fantastic doctor and she is very down-to-Earth and able to relate.
I have gestational diabetes, so they set me up with a nutritionist and counselors as well. I also had the CVS test done through them. They made the whole process as simple as could be.
Katherine Himes is great and so is David Streitman! Dr. Streitman delivered my daughter and he was terrific. I wanted to do it med free and he was completely supportive, I didn't even have an IV!
I'm delivering at west penn and have heard tons of great things about it. Magee is nice, but I have heard, from friends who have delivered there as well, that it can be a bit of a baby factory.

I would absolutely recommend them.
Good luck!
