Baby Lotion??

Do you use lotion / oil for your LO?  What kind do you use?  Do you use it every day on LO?

H's arms and legs are dry, so we started putting Johnson's baby lotion on those area since a couple of days ago and it seems helping.  After we gave her a bath last night, I also put the lotion on her belly for the first time even though it's not dry.  I noticed red rash on her belly this morning!!!  I was bit surprised b/c her arms and legs were fine. Hmmmmmm

I use Johnson's on S's arms, legs, and tummy. It just makes her smell so good. :) Plus we'll use the lavender scented one at night to calm and make her sleepy. Not sure if it really helps with that, but it does smell really good. She's never had a reaction to it. Maybe H's tummy is just more sensitive? Strange!

Not sure about the rash?  That is strange.

I have used either California Baby or Burts Bees body wash/shampoo/lotion on my kids since their first bath and never had any issues with rashes or anything.

We use lotion twice a day, as LOs inherited my horrible dry skin. We use J and J natural and have not had a reaction, which shocks their pedi because DS1 has eczema. She said tons of babies have a reaction to J and J. She recommended Aveeno, but DS1 is allergic to oats, so their oat based lotion is out. He also had a reaction to Aquafor. The pedi recommended CeraVe, but I haven't used it yet. I use Vanicream on myself since no one in the house can wear fragranced lotions due to DS1's skin problems. I know many have success with Vanicream on sensitive skin.

We started giving L a bath every night at around 3 weeks because we found it helps him sleep though the night.  The pedi told us to make sure we use lotion so his skin doesn't get too dry but to use something unscented for a while.  So, we use Aveeno Baby right now after his baths.  He gets a full massage with it, everywhere but his head and face.  At some point, we'll switch to the lavender J and J bc I love the smell!

I looked up what eczema is and I think my DD has something like that on her arms and legs!  They are not red red, but very dry patch.  Thank you for the information and hope your DS's skin problem goes away as he gets old!

We use babyganics lotion.  I just started doing it after every bath because I noticed some dry skin on his arms and tummy.  I like it and haven't had any problems with it.

We were using the Aveeno eczema lotion because DS had dry patches on his arms and legs. When the pedi noticed the patches, she suggested Vaseline right after his bath. That way he's not completely dry and the Vaseline locks in the moisture. Since switching, his patches are gone! Cheap, plain old Vaseline worked for us!
