Do you need to take the base? You mean car seat base, right? I would leave that at home.
I thought about that. We have aChicco Keyfit, which can be used without a base, but it seems like a hassel, especially when my mom takes him places alone.
I live in FL and just flew to Virginia with my then 5 week old. We checked the car seat and base which they will put in a big plastic bag for you. We also checked the snap and go for his stroller. He was so little so I just carried him the whole time. I had a back pack with formula, water, diapers, wipes, pacifiers, bottles, extra change of clothes, extra light blanket, and a swaddler just in case. Everything worked out great. Our plane was even delayed an extra 6 hours and he was totally fine. Good luck!
