This is an AW post, but I'm so excited . DD was a preemie and I've been pumping and bottle-feeding her for the last few months. I was so tired of doing that, but wanted her to get exclusive breastmilk. I was going to "practice" breastfeeding her today before her bottle and she latched on like a pro! She's had two feedings with no bottle - it's so nice not to pump! And I'm most excited about going on vacation next month and not having to pack a ton of bottles, the sterilizer, etc. or worry about finding a place to pump every few hours.

That's awesome! At nearly two weeks old my little girl is finally getting better with BF and I am so happy to have the option to BF or pump congrats to you! glad it's working out
I read this post while bf'ing and I feel like a whiney baby. I have been whining about how much I hate bf'ing since she was born and your post reminded me how lucky I am to have such an easy way to feed her. Congrats on figuring it out and I hope you love bf'ing.
Yay! I feel your joy! my daughter wasn't a preemie but yes it is soooo much work to pump and bottle feed. I have been alternating between direct nursing and pump n bottle feeding because she wasn't getting much from the breast at first and also because my nips got really sore and cracked. I liked the break my breasts got when I gave her a bottle of bm but it just takes so much work to pump and store then make it when she needs to feed. I have finally mastered the "laid back" position! I was so proud of my Jazzie when she latched in that position. We have tried side lying position and we don't completely have it down but I'm expecting that soon we will have that one mastered too and I can finally relax during nursing. I have been able to stop pumping as much but when my stored supply started to dwindle I got nervous and tried to pump longer. Then I realized that she IS actually getting what she needs and positioning and pain is getting so much better. Keep up the good work everyone. I never realized the amount of dedication it would take but proud of all of us no matter where we all fall on the spectrum of feeding we are all doing hard work and we are awesome at it.
