Re: FFFC

  • My confession is that I'm bored. I can only watch so much Live, Rachel Ray, etc. while BFing.

Although I don't want time to pass too quickly, I can't wait until next week when MH finishes teaching for the summer and I have a grown up around to talk to.

I love being able to provide breastmilk for my son, but I'm not a big fan of BF. It takes so much time out of my day. I feel like I'm just sitting around watching tv waiting for the next feed. I know he will get better, but at the moment it takes him 45 minutes to an hour. I'd rather just pump, and give him a bottle.

  • DS1 has been watching way too much TV since DS2 arrived. Right now, he's watching Monster Trucks on Netflix because DS2 screams every time I put him down. He also won't let me sit down when I have him in carrier.

BF is killing me. I'm jealous that my husband gets time to sleep, and I know its irrational to ask him to stay up and watch me nurse. It makes me feel like a single parent. I'm waiting for the good part to
Have you considered asking your husband to get the baby when he/she wakes up, change the baby, then bring him/her to you? That way you both participate in the overnight wakings and you get a teeny bit of a break.

I don't bother now because MH has to work and I get to stay home... But in 1 week when he finishes teaching for the summer, he will participate more overnight.

    I have 3

    1. I let DS watch netflix too much. I have no energy to come up with things to do. We made cookies yesterday but I am exhausted from all the stuff I have to do.

    2. I let DS eat Popsicles for part of his breakfast yesterday.

    3. I pretended to be in a really deep sleep this morning so DH would get up with DD and I could get an extra couple hours of sleep.

Second one is, I can see how people end up with Irish twins. DH has been looking goooooood. If it weren't for the fact that my vagina is in constant pain, I could get in some real trouble, lol.

This. Only it's the incision that hurts. I could definitely get in some real trouble. Good thing he has more self control than me.

  • I'm with you ladies. Def a bit of unfounded jealousy towards DH. I have been letting him sleep because he works like a mad man in summer and I don't. But I do feel like a single mom. Especially this week because DH had a cold and we didn't want him touching DS too much.

I am bored too. I don't mind BFing too much, but hate the cabin fever. Can't wait til I am getting more sleep and DS has a better immune system so we can go out more and be normal.

I hear PP about the Irish twins. I've have 3 sex dreams about DH already. I better call and get my minipill. And I had a section so I think I'm good to go down there. lol

Sometimes at 4 am I do wonder what the hell I got myself into. And miss the pre baby days. But the next morning, DS smiles at me, even though he's prob just pooping, and all is forgiven.

  • I am not a fan of bfing either! It takes so long and keeps me up through the night. I also feel like I am the only one who can comfort ds and while I know that is not true, it puts more pressure on me. I also feel like he is attached to my boob all.the.time.

Sadly, I've been trying to seduce my husband. But he has good self control and doesn't want me getting pregnant again (right now anyways) or getting an infection. He almost gave in once but then stopped lol. I don't know why I'm wanting to do it so much. 4 more weeks until my appointment.

I give LO atleast 1 to 2 formula bottles a day. Sometimes I just don't have the time to BF him. I also gave my kids capri suns with breakfast today, its my daughters birthday and its what she wanted so I gave in. Of course you can't give 1 something and not the other. Somedays you really have to pick your battles.

Guess I should be flamed everyday since I have to supplement with formula since my twelve pumping sessions a day I was doing wasn't making enough for my child. Good to know.

I have one.  I used to humor people I know who sent in pictures to "beautiful baby"contests by voting for their kid but think "I would never do that."  It's basically who knows the most people and can get the most votes, and beauty-type pageants annoy me for a multitude of reasons.  But then when I heard about the prizes in a local one, I was very very very tempted.  (Babies are EXPENSIVE and the grand prize would have helped.   I know, I'm a sellout.)  I just ran out of time and missed the deadline.

But the really flame-worthy part is that you could only enter one baby.  And even though both of my twins are beautiful gifts from God, one of my babies is more photogenic and would probably be considered cuter to an objective eye.  So it was a no-brainer which one I would have entered had I done it.

    This is a good one!

I'm currently pumping and pretending to be hooked up just.a.taddddd longer so my husband is taking care of M while I finish catching up here.
  • I know that most people relish the early days of LO's life and even wish they would stay little as long as possible, but I can't wait for DD to get bigger.

Breastfeeding, pumping, and formula supplementing is stressful to me and I long for the days when she will be eating solids and STTN.

I EFF and I am glad that I do. But that's an UO not a FFFC. I obviously don't see anything wrong with supplementing. You do what you gotta do, physically or to maintain your mental health.

I forget that sarcasm doesn't translate well online. I was frustrated at the fact that using formula was something to be confessed.  Both of my children were/are EFF so I definitely don't have a problem with it.

I know he will get better, but at the moment it takes him 45 minutes to an hour. I'd rather just pump, and give him a bottle.

Exclusively pumping is no walk in the park.  My baby was 4.2 at birth and by the time he had the strength to suck he was frustrated because he had grown used to bottle flow.  I feed my son for 20-25 minutes from bottle, pump for 20 minutes for each feed.  I spend more time washing bottles than I care to admit.  I also have 2 very important schedules to follow when leaving the house.  It takes an hour to feed, pump and get out the door...then I've got 2-3 hours MAX to get home and do it all again.  Not to mention going anywhere for an extended amount of time and lugging a pump and all it's parts like a pack mule.

Don't be so quick to assume the grass is greener.

  • I pump and supplement with formula. Pumping is exhausting and so inconvenient! It is what works for us because I am in so much pain when nursing, but on occasion when I nurse just to have that bond again is an amazing feeling.

i should have mentioned that I also pump 8 times a day on top of BF since we were in the hospital, because of nipple and latch issues. And yes sometimes I would rather only pump than having to do both.

    And,
I may use my nipple shield for good.

Same here! We do a mishmash of electric pumping, hand pumping, nursing, and formula feeding. The whole thing started because of latch issues, and I'm pretty sure that I'm never giving up the nipple shield.

LO seems to get enough, and he clearly isn't having nipple confusion, so why mess with a good thing?

I don't want to keep quoting a million things. So I'll do a new post. I'm most definitely a go with the flow whatever you gotta do kinda person. I also believe to each their own. I totally applaud those who can fullifil their choices whether its a med free natural birth, csection, BF, FF, cloth diapers it whatever. Everyone knows what works best for them. No way would I have time to do 12 or more pumping sessions a day, im lucky to get 1 a day. That's just what happens when you have more kid, it sucks just as much not being able to cuddle and hold this LO because his sisters need attention to and to go here and there.

Agreed!  I have three, and my two older ones are middle school/high school so they're self-sufficient. A lady has to do what a lady has to do!

My confession is DD wore the same outfit for the last 2 days.  I also let my long term sub (who had been my student teacher) pack my whole classroom since I've been out on maternity leave.  I moving classrooms and it had to get done...but I feel bad.
