Anyone elses 32 mos old still in a crib?

DS is still in his but DD (twin) has been in her toddler bed for a few months now. He is showing no interest in climbing out.

Just wondering if there are others.

Mine is almost 3 1/2 and is still in a crib. He loves it. We are going to transition him this summer, but if your is not trying to get out, go with it as long as you can.

My youngest DD is 28 months and still in her crib and we don't have any plan to move her any time soon. My youngest was climbing out of her crib at 16 months (so we switched her then) so it's nice to keep this one in the crib as long as possible.

lol...ok i'm glad it's not just me that is in no rush to convert to toddler bed lol...i just know this one will come out of his room constantly. Thanks ladies! I feel much better now!

DS turns 3 Sunday and he is still in a crib. We're in no rush to switch him as we value our sleep and his too much at this point!

You guys are making me feel bad! DS is 33 months and was happy as a clam in his crib. So happy I left him in it and bought little bro his own rather than kick him out. But I figured he should at least be using the toddler rail at this point so I put it on a few days ago. No issues with him getting up, and he seems happy to get in and out himself, but I feel like it's the end of an era!

Just because he's not climbing out doesn't mean anything. My daughter wasn't climbing out but I needed to move her into a bed anyway. She's happy as a clam in her big girl bed, we've had no problems with her sleeping, in fact, on the rare night that she's a problem, we can at least lay down with her now.

DD just turned 3 and is happy as a clam in her crib. She is moving to her own room at the end of the summer (her room is attached to our right now) and I'm thinking I will keep her in her crib at least for a while longer then too. I will probable keep her in it for at least another year but probably convert it to a toddler bed this winter.

My 33 month old is just now talking about big beds. I think when he asks to sleep in one, I'll convert his crib to a toddler bed. I'm in no rush and he hasn't tried to climb out of his crib for many, many months.

I truly believe in keeping kids in their cribs until 3 if possible. There are so many dangers for kids to get into, I just think developmentally they are so much more ready to take on the big kid bed at 3. With DS, we made transitioning to the big bed part of his 3 year old birthday celebrations. He got cool new sheets/ blankets, books etc as gifts and we made a big deal about it being a "3 year old big kid thing". I hope we are able to do the same with DD. She is almost 2.5 and still in the crib

DS is 2 1/2 and still in his crib. He's never tried to climb out and he's never mentioned wanting a big bed. He is hard to get to sleep sometimes still, so I'd rather keep him in his crib until I know he won't run around his room playing all night.

DS will be 3 next week and he's still in a crib. He likes it, he's climbed out twice but doesn't try on the regular (because he COULD get out). We're in no rush to end this!

This. I read an awful story once about a mom who's toddler woke up early one morning, climbed on the small furniture in her room which tipped over on her. She died soon after at the hospital. Rare yes, and the article was about anchoring the furniture to the wall... But. There are so many things they can get into. For example, I used to be able to trust DS to not put items in his mouth. With his newest molars, everything's going in his mouth again.

DS just turned 31 months and is still in the crib. Some days that's the only way I can get him to take a nap, since he can't get out/doesn't try. I guess I might transition him before this fall for baby #2, but I'm playing it by ear.

We had some paperwork from a sleep specialist from my SIL about advice for crib-to-bed transition. There were 3 scenarios based on sleep history and current sleep patterns. It ranged from 2.5 - 3, or just over 3 years.

I have a friend who's 2 year 9 month old is still in a crib. DD has been in a twin bed since she was about 2 since she learned how to climb out of her crib.

My son has been in his toddler bed has a convertible crib since he was 13 months. He slept with us for the first year because i was a basket case when he cried, so he had a hard time staying in his crib. He got out 5 times in one night, and this was after we took everything out of his crib and lowered the mattress to the lowest setting. I felt better letting him get out of his toddler bed than falling out of his crib. We put up barriers so he couldn't fall out and made steps for him so he could get out easily. He is 2 years 8 months now. I just say it is up to each child when they are ready to take certain steps.

DD is still in the crib, though we will be moving her in the next few weeks because DS needs it soon. If it weren't for that we would be keeping her in it as long as possible!

Mine went into a twin when he was 19 months old only because he was climbing out.
