Hi. When you say your DD/DS is eating 3 meals of solid food what are you counting? It my DS is eating 4oz of baby yogurt would that be 1 meal of solids?
Yes, sometimes we'll just do a liquid. Like a puree or yogurt, but most the time I add some finger food too. Like cut up fruit, yogurt melts, baby cheetos, cut cheese, etc. Sometimes, I'll give her just finger food.
I'd count that. We do 3.5 oz of baby puree (baby food or yogurt) then I give him some table foods like fruit (right now we are doing blueberries) or whatever I'm eating. Sometimes I'll give him some puffs or yogurt bites so he can continue to work on picking up food.
I use it to mean "food opportunity". As in, we're at the table, he's in the high chair and has a chance to eat. 4oz of anything would be an excellent "meal".
My LO doesn't eat more than a couple oz per meal. He stops at exactly 2 oz. He'll turn away or start playing with the spoon I'm trying to feed him with.
Now when we're having dinner, he'll eat what we're eating. I try to make it look about 2 oz. I just eye ball it. Like a tablespoon of rice and a tablespoon of veggies. This morning he ate blueberry pancakes with me. I just fed him from mine. I would say he had about a third, maybe half, of a pancake.

Yep, I would count that as a meal. My baby is usually just having fun with food while "eating" and I do count them as meals but breast milk is still no 1. This is a good reference for introducing
solids https://goodmomming.com
