High-Risk Pregnancy

Wdyt, long car ride.

Apologies in advance, I'm on mobile.

So the LD doc put me on bed rest through Tuesday. I'm supposed to call my doctor first thing after the holiday weekend and see him. I'm not sure what will happen at that appointment yet if he will extend bed rest or take me off.

However, Thursday I have to drive 5 hours each way to take my daughter to meet her step mom in vegas for a 2 week visit at get dads.

From your experience, should I be stressing as much as I am over driving down? Should I try and find someone to drive while I ride shotgun? DH is in his first week of law enforcement training for a new job so he CAN'T miss it. Obviously I'll ask the doctor, but between Tuesday and Thursday early am I might end up stressed about what to do.

Any advice will be super appreciated!!

TIA

IF the doctor takes you off bed rest I would say if they approve it then I would find someone to go with you. However if they leave you on bed rest then obviously no. I would ask the stepmom if she could drive any closer so it's less on you. I mean 10 hours in a car is very long, not sure how far she is driving to meet you but I would ask.

There is no way I'd drive 5hrs away during a high risk pregnancy requiring bed rest....particularly if I was having contractions as frequently as you have.  I don't know if this is a court mandated arrangement, but I would tell step mom you simply can't do it.

I wouldn't do it.  Can another family member take her?  Even if they do take you off bed rest, that's 10 hrs of sitting - not great :/

Is there any way they can come from Vegas to pick her up? I'd hope they'd understand.
