I was reluctant to share this news here because I know how frustrating it is when these high tech fertility treatments don't go as expected, but I also know how hearing about pregnant woman over 40 really did give me hope that it was possible.
So, I am 6 weeks pregnant today! You can read my ticker for the details, but somehow this happened during the month we had to take a break because I was overstimulated from the Follistim! I doubted that counting to day 14 from the first day of bleeding was going to be accurate for predicting ovulation during this break period because I really felt the fertility meds had ruined my normal pattern, but something got in my head that day & I thought, "what the heck~it's worth a try." So, before my husband got home that night I went to CVS for some Preseed & a bottle of Mirassou cabernet, & the combination of all of those things worked! I will share that I was so doubtful I would become pregnant that I continued to have wine a few times a week & my usual coffee every day until I was (now in hindsight) 5 weeks pregnant & took the home test. I had the ultrasound yesterday & so far everything looks great with a strong heart beat, but we'll be cautious about being too excited until I at least get to week 10. I wish all of you the best, & I would say just keep trying everything until you really feel like you don't want to anymore. You just never know!

We are so grateful to have a 2yr old daughter, conceived naturally after 3 miscarriages & no treatments (our Dr. gave us 1 more month to try on our own before advacing to IVF, & we conceived her naturally in January 2010)!
Trying since April 2011 without sucess....MD said we were both "fine" & that if it wasn't happening, it was a chromosomal issue.
Finally started Follistim 225mcg injections with an Ovidrel trigger November 2012. Bleeding 11 days post Ovidrel on November 25th.
Starting the whole lab/Ultrasound/Follistim cycle again on November 27th...

1st BFP-8/17/12! Missed Miscarriage discovered @ 8 week US. D&C.
2nd BFP-2/13/13! Blighted Ovum discovered @ 8 week US. Natural miscarriage.
3rd BFP-5/22/13! By early June, progesterone plummeting. Another loss.
August 2013 - started Donor Egg process, but surprise BFP with my own eggs.

My Ovulation Chart
Me: 41 DH: 46. We are TTC our 1st, started July '11,
3 cycles clomid with Ob,
1 cycle Tamoxifen with Ob,
Diagnosed PCOS 11/5/12
clomid, trigger & timed bd 12/12 BFN
1st clomid IUI 1/4/13 BFN.
2nd clomid IUI 2/13 cancelled didn't respond to clomid.
3/15/13 scheduled laparoscopy & on bcp.
May 10 IUI from injectibles - BFN
May 22 done with interventions it will either happen or it won't.
February 2014 No longer actively trying, but not preventing.

ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive. Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)
DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!
Thank you SO much for all the support. I wish you all the best of luck~~& just want to share another positive story. I have a good friend who became pregnant at 43 after 2 yrs of failure on treatments. She used Preseed & acupuncture that month she became pregnant, both for the first time. I have NO idea if the Preseed or the wine caused our success, or maybe the drugs got my ovaries going....who knows, but I also have a co-worker who used Preseed the month she got pregnant after trying for a year without treatments (she was young...in her 30s, but that was the one thing they did different the month they conceived. Just wanted to share those stories too...
Thanks for sharing your story...it does give us all hope. Congrats to you and your hubby for your wonderful blessing.....

Me-39, HSG 2/13- clear. DS-IUI #1-3/13,300iu Menopur 12 days,3 days Cetrotide, Ovidrel Trigger-BFN. IUI #2 06/13, BFP EDD: 02/22/14 m/c (cp), IUI #3- BFP EDD: 5/17/14 m/c 09/13. Blood work/RPL panel- nk cell/MTHFR mutation- negative. Blood work all good. Unexplained reason for m/c. IUI #4 BFP m/c (cp) 10/13. IUI #5- 12/13 Cancelled. No response. (1)follicle. IUI #5.1- 2/14. IVF Bound
