Re: Question

  • Yes and yes. With drinking while stimming, my RE said a glass here or there is okay. "Balance" she said. That said, pay attention to how your body feels. I only wanted a glass of wine through possibly days 13 of stimming, after that, I just knew I would get a rotten headache. This latest round, I haven't felt like wine hardly at all, and I love a good drink. I switched to bubbly soda water.

As far as sex, every 3 days is recommended, but not closer than 2 days to ER 4872 hours is good. We always did the day before trigger. No more than 4 days should pass between his last ejaculation and ER, bc the sample needs to be the best it can be!
    | Married since 2008 | DH and I: Both 30 | Me: Endometriosis and Carrier of an X-Linked Dominant Genetic Disorder | DH: Low Morph | Planning IVF with PGD and PGS in 2013 | Freeze-All IVF #1: March 2013 ER 3/26. 29R, 12M, 11F. 4 5AA frozen blasts. Freeze-All IVF#2: May 2013 ER 5/15. 31R, 21M, 20F. 6 5AA frozen blasts. Our PGD probe was completed in late June (total of 20 weeks to develop). PGD and PGS Results came on 6/19: 3 healthy embryos (normal chromosomes and unaffected by my family's genetic disorder). FET #1: July 2013 Natural Cycle - Cancelled due to insufficient lining (only got to 7.5mm). FET #1.2: August 2013 - Medicated Cycle with Lupron & Estrogen Patches to build up lining. Single embryo transfer was 8/23. Beta #1: 240! Beta #2: 578! U/S on 9/19 at 6w4d: We saw the heart beating at 131bpm. Second U/S on 10/4 at 8w5d: We saw the heart beating at 178bpm. EDD 5/11/2014

Oh, and I meant to say to check with your RE because every one has different requirements with drinking...but I think that if a glass will help you relax...it's up to you, but you have to feel comfortable with it. And I do not plan to drink after transfer at all, just in case that's helpful. My RE says that once you might be pregnant, no alcohol. GL!

  • My clinic wants you to stop drinking as soon as a month before you cycle (yikes!). Its been tough as all heck. Not that I drink often, its just that now I don't even have the option to.
On 10/23/13 Baby Sophie and Baby Gabriel born at 21+5 weeks. They grew wings and flew away from us. May God bless them always. We love you beans!

  • My RE told me to stop drinking once we started stims but then she also said an occasional glass of wine was fine so I wouls say do what you feel comfortable with prior to ET.

My RE also told me no intercourse once we start stims due to enlarged ovaries so I guess this also depends. So many things that are up in the air.

    Me 28 DH 30

    After 4+ years TTC

    FET #2 = DS Madden Jeffery <3 July 29, 2014 <3
  • My RE suggested no drinking once I started stims and unfortunately stims made me bloated and not much in the mood for BD! :( lol
  • My RE says no drinking throughout the cycle. She also says no sex from stims through beta due to risk of damage to ovaries and risk of multiples.

I'd ask your clinic what their policy is and why.  HTH!
