Missing bump?

Seeing other pregnant ladies sometimes makes me miss my bump. But then I'm like naw... I like being able to tie my shoes. Lol.

Anyone miss being pregnant?

Re: Missing bump?

  • Yes.  I miss feeling lo kicking while I'm at work....and I miss the anticipation of lo's birth...and I miss sleeping.  I also miss not feeling good about my body as I have looked 3-5 months pg since I was in high school (as do many of the women on my mom's side of the family) and I've never been able to get rid of that belly.

I look at some of the pics of my bump and it just seems dream-like.

  • Yes, sometimes I do and I'm actually surprised by it. One of my gfs who had a baby a few months before me told me, while she was still pregnant, that she was afraid that she was going to miss being pregnant. I thought she was crazy because I thought that once our LOs were born we would be loving having them on the outside so much that we wouldn't even miss being pregnant. But now I can understand what she meant. I loved my son's kicks etc. but I don't necessarily miss them. I also had crazy pelvic pain and couldn't sleep the last month or two before giving birth so I don't miss that either. I DO miss my pregnancy body. I've always been plus size and have always tried hiding my tummy. When I was pregnant I embraced my belly bump. I loved wearing things that showed it off. Now my body is in an awkward post pregnancy state.

    Anyone miss being pregnant?

Yes! I had some rough months throughout the process but I do miss my bump sometimes. Then I think about all the nauseous days and the swollen feet and I think no I am ok minus the bump! Lol
  • I miss having an excuse for not having a flat belly.

As tough as my pregnancy was...awful nausea the whole time, pree, hemorrhoids, etc, etc...I knew I would, and do miss being pregnant. Dont get me wrong, I'm thrilled that our DD is here but I miss the suspense of not knowing her sex, patting her little bum that would stick out to one side of my bump, being pregnant for the first time, etc.

  • No! I hated being pregnant. I never felt like myself or really connected.
  • Yes, I do miss it a little bit. This is going to sound ridiculous but I don't feel like I got "closure" with my bump. LO came 4 weeks early and emergency c section because she was breech. My labor was really fast, when we got to the hospital I was in the OR within 30 minutes.

I was blessed with a really easy pregnancy. Having been an endurance athlete obsessed with my weight and body, pregnancy was very healing to me. It was the first time in a long time I was really in awe of my body and what it was creating. Truly a happy healing time. So I was a little bummed when it came to an unexpected abrupt end.

  • I miss feeling her moving around in there.  My dh came up to me the other night and put his arms around me.  He said how he missed my belly.  I was very surprised because he said how he missed putting his arms around me when I was pregnant.  I thought it was sweet
