February 2013 Moms

***What went well this week?***

DS slept 9 1/2 - 10 1/2 hours for four nights in a row! (He hasn't done it the last 2 nights, but it's nice knowing he has the capability :P)

He seems to really be enjoying his bumbo seat and sat there happily for 30 minutes this morning while I sang to him and he nommed on a lovey.

He keeps showing an increasing interest in toys and reaches for them. He also can track things while on his tummy which is super cute!

Re: ***What went well this week?***

  • I survived my husband being gone for 2 full days and it wasn't even a nightmare.  In the past, when DH was gone is when DD was a nightmare.  I was worried it would be twice as bad, but we even had a good time.

We got DS in the exersaucer too!  His eyes were so wide looking at this little apple thing with a worm in it.  It was adorable.  We too only have him in there for about 5-10 min because he's still technically too small for it and we put a pillow under his feet because he doesn't quite touch the bottom.

My parents were here to visit this week and DS gave us tons of giggles! His first laugh was about 2 weeks ago but it had been pretty hard to get him to do it again.  This week he was all giggles!  Its the best sound ever and makes me melt!

  • E doesn't really nap much when she's with my MIL while I'm at work. So usually all she does is sleep most of the day on my first day off. I got to cuddle, nap and recuperate with her all day yesterday.

  • Ds started putting himself to sleep without being rocked or bounced or a bottle. We've just laid him in the crib and he just falls asleep. And he's been sleeping 9 hours at night.

  • DS is starting to figure out Mommy is mommy and Daddy is daddy, and he likes being with us. Win. But it has started to mean he fusses and cries when we put him down for naps/bedtime. I don't think it's separation anxiety just yet, just more like, "Hey! We're having fun!!" or  "We're snuggling! Where are you going?"  This week I bought him a projector. For bedtime, after his bottle, we put him down drowsy, but awake. As soon as he feels himself being lowered into the crib, he usually starts to fuss/cry. But now I turn on the projector, it distracts him from being put down, and he starts cooing and talking to the ceiling until he falls asleep. I really hope it sticks, because it's made bedtime the cuddly, peaceful time it used to be before we transitioned to the crib. And since I do every bedtime except the weekends because DH works nights, I needed this.

  • Wednesday, he giggled. OMG. He's been doing this adorable half-laugh, but a giggle escaped during one of those the other day. I can't wait til he starts doing it always!

  • Pretty much everything went well this week. My milk is finally trying to stabilize. I did all of the things that I needed to do this week and then some. DH and I even got to DTD this week! No complaints here!

  • We had two STTNs this week...I feel so amazing and rested!

My DH brought me flowers for no reason last night.  He's definitely a keeper.  :-)

There has been lots of smiles and baby talk this week...I love that I get to spend my days with this little boy.

DH and LO had a boy's night yesterday (burgers at Fuddruckers, trip to Target, walk around the neighborhood with the dog) while I spent the evening at my cheer team's first bonding party of the year at a cheer parent's gorgeous house that overlooks our whole town.  The girls chatted in the hot tub while the moms and coaches hung out on the patio and watched the sun set over the valley.  It was quite lovely.
