Where's the baby!?!??!

I have a recurring dream EVERY night that the baby wakes up MOTN and I cant get him to ho back to sleep so I put him in bed with me. It's very vivid. Then, I wake up in a total panic because I think the baby's in bed with us and I can't find him at which point I think he must have fallen onto the floor. I takes me a good few minutes to realize it was actually a dream and the baby is still sleeping peacefully in his RNP right next to me. It's a very hair raising couple of minutes. The strange thing is he hasn't been in bed with us since around 6 weeks and he STTN pretty consistantly. Anyone else have weird vivid dreams about the baby that make no sense?

Re: Where's the baby!?!??!

  • Not dreams, but I've brought E into bed with us to feed her and I must be asleep when I put her back in her PnP. So when I wake up I don't remember putting her back and I shoot straight out of bed and frantically search the bed and floor thinking that my husband must be laying on top of her and oh my gosh we smothered our baby!! Then I look at the crib and there she is, sound asleep. It's hard to go back to sleep after that adrenaline rush.

  • Last night I dreamed that I and some other girls I knew were kidnapped and forced to live in a very strict, cult-ish society. One of the girls found a way to get to the basement of this place so that we could escape the tyranny for a couple hours. I thought I took DD with me, but apparently I didn't and when we got caught and had to go back to get "punished," I was informed that DD had died because of SIDS while I was gone.

So weird. And awful. I have had the strangest dreams since giving birth.

  • I don't usually have the dream, but wake up often forgetting that I put him back in his cradle.  It's terrifying to think they are right there and not see them!

On the dream note, I had a dream last night that zombies (I know, ridiculous) attacked and surrounded the group I was with while I was holding Connor.  I don't know if I just don't remember the next part or if the dream skipped, but I knew that he was dead and people kept asking me about him, not knowing he'd been killed.  I would answer like he was still okay, until someone asked about his personality, at which point I dropped to my knees and started bawling.  I woke up crying.  The pain and emptiness was so real...

  • A few night ago I had a very vivid dream that I dropped her down the stairs by accident.  She rolled from the top step to the bottom and then wasn't moving and I was afraid to turn her over because I was afraid of what I'd see.  It was horrifying.  Now every time I walk down the steps with her I grab a handful of the material of what she's wearing just in case she were to wiggle away!

  • I've been having dreams (nightmares, I should say) about both my 4 year old and new LO, often times the dream about my older one involves him being kidnapped and the one about my LO is going into his room to check on him and he's cold, lifeless, and blue. I don't know if it's crazy hormones or what, but it's terrible!

  • I keep dreaming that E is twins and that I've left one somewhere. I wake up in a sweaty panic running around looking for my car keys and DH just laughs at me.

  • I think I must put him back in his crib in my sleep, because I wake up "holding" him in my arms, get out of bed to put him back, and voila! he's already in the crib... Then I feel dumb and sleepwalk myself back to bed. :P

Glad to know it's a common thing!

I have that dream all the time. I actually asked my husband once "is he dead" and he frantically said "what?!?" I keep thinking the pillow is him and I'm suffocating him. Funny thing is I've never had him in bed!

I don't have dreams like that, but I'll get up to feed her when she starts fussing in the MOTN, and by the time she's finished nursing and asleep, I'll be half asleep too. So I put her back in her crib and knock back out. Then I'll wake up to her fussing again later, but in my sleepy stupor I'll think that she's still supposed to be asleep on my chest and all the sudden she's not there, and I've either rolled and squished her or she's on the floor. That freak out session has happened a couple times now....and tells me I need more sleep haha.

  • Y'all's dreams are scary. Indifferent

I haven't had any baby nightmares since he's been here, just nightly dreams about his dad who I haven't seen in about 2 months... ranging from warm fuzzes to "zomg he's cheating on me." Dumb.
