Pregnant after a Loss

Question from a TTCAL Gal

Hi ladies,

I posted this on TTCAL, but it didn't get much response. So I have heard a lot on the boards about POM juice helping increase uterine lining, but I can't find any scientific evidence... has anyone read anything online or heard it from their doc? Or has anyone used it and have a successful pregnancy? I'm just hoping it's not a rumor since I bought a bunch of it today, haha.

Thanks ladies and hope to be back here soon!

Re: Question from a TTCAL Gal

  • I tried POM and pineapple core for 1-2 cycles with BFN.  They were both pretty gross.  I've only conceived on cycles in which I did neither.  I said something to my OB about it and he just waved his hands like I was crazy.  I think there may be some science behind it but I'm not sure it makes a huge difference.  Still, sometimes it feels good to do everything you can and it certainly doesn't hurt.  GL to you!
  • I used it the cycle I got pregnant! Not sure if it helped or not though.

  • I tried it my 8th cycle TTCAL and it was the cycle I got my BFP.   I don't know it there is any scientific evidence behind it, but I like the juice and thought it couldn't hurt. Who knows if it was what helped me conceive or not though, it's very possible it was just coincidence.

  • I never found any evidence to support the use of Pom other than people on boards, so I opted to save my money.  I also did fertility treatments, so I think the meds and frequent ultrasounds were a better use of my $.

  • I did Pom juice when I conceived DS, but not this time. Who knows if it actually helped. I never did my own research, just read it on TTGP and decided it couldn't hurt.
