This is my first time posting to this board! My 12 weeks old son is currently ebf and I am on an elimination diet of dairy and soy for over a month now. My son is finally gaining weight and sleeping better, but he does still have pretty bad gas and spits up at least once a day if not more (which upsets him). His poop is still periodically mucousy and this past weekend it went from yellowish brown to grass green again and he was gassy and screaming all night. I am wondering if any moms still have green poop episodes who's kids don't have dairy or soy. My first guess is I ate something that had dairy or soy, but I try to be super careful. Is it possible he is intolerant to something else? What are your signs that you or your child ate something that is upsetting them?
Re: MSPI questions!
Yes my daughter tested at 13 months found allergic milk eggs soy & wheat. She never had hives or anything asthma symptoms runny nose lack of gaining weight.
It seems to be an allergy that gets worse over time no eczema. It could not be allergy but intolerance for many things. I'd try not eliminating all gluten most reducing. Or you could do a food panel avoid those foods. It can take 90 days to detox from dairy. Good luck
Are you checking everything that goes in your mouth or LOs mouth? Vitamins, medications, chapstick even? These can all have hidden dairy or soy.
Or, your LO could be intolerant of something else. It's up to you what you cut out next among the top 8 allergens. Is there one that you eat a lot of? Oh, it could be something totally random, too. My DS has a horrible reaction whenever I eat cabbage, and gets diaper rash when I have coconut milk.
GL!
FWIW, my LO had multiple intolerances. I ended up dairy, soy, egg and tomato free. To get to that I followed a TED (total elimination diet). You could try something like Dr. Sears diet:

or this:

or try eliminating all or some of the top 8 allergens: dairy, soy, wheat, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, and shellfish.
That being said it could be dairy and/or soy, and maybe something has found its way into your diet? I would just re-check labels and see if maybe there has been a change in ingredients, etc.
