We are thinking about using a dresser for baby #2 instead of a changing station. We don't plan to use the changing station from DD because paint is chipping, but I really liked how in reach everything is (see pic). I can't easily find this style again and really don't want to buy it (we got the current stuff off craigs list). I wanted to ask how others used a dresser and how you made it work. The upside of using the dresser is it means we'd finally get some master bedroom furniture. TIA!
Re: Changing Station - using a dresser?
We bought a media cabinet at a local furniture store. It's the perfect height for a changing station and I keep his clothes in the drawers. It's more sturdy than most of the baby dressers I looked at and was a better price too. Also came assembled.

We used a desk as a changing station. I liked that it had drawers and could be used later on as DS got older. Never really use the middle drawer but the others have diapers, extra wipes, extra butt paste etc., burp clothes, and receiving blankets (used those on top of changing pad).
Desk or dresser is convenient and I can't stomach the thought of buying an extra piece of furniture we'll never use once the that stage is past.
Here's what ours looks like:
This exactly.
This is what we did too! Works great!

I love how it all worked out with my dresser. I have a taller one next to it with a little dim lamp and a diaper caddy where I have everything I need right there. Then the first drawer of the dresser is where I store all the diapers, diaper ginnie bags, additional cremes etc. So when I need a refill it's right there.
We did this too.
