Being I only have MH around one weekend a month, we have started planning his bday party. Im thinking a backyard bbq with a come and go as you please kind of feel. I just want it laid back because the grandparents will already be crazy trying to get the most attention from him and MIL will want to control everything. Does it sound ridiculous?!

We are planning an at home party too. For DD#1 we just had sub sandwiches, chips, fruit, veggies, and a few other things. Everything went well. I like having an at home party because lo will be more comfortable in her normal surrondings.
That sounds great! I'm hoping we can keep it laid back as well. Hopefully just some grilled burgers or subs, some cake and a few hours just to hang out.
This will pretty much be what we do too. I just saw on FB where someone had one of those inflatable bounce houses at their one year old's huge birthday party. Please. Ain't nobody got time for that.
