How would you pronounce Ewan? Serious contender if we have another boy. I've posted this question elsewhere and am getting some interesting (and mixed) results. I can't get the poll option to work so we'll do this the old-fashioned way: Ew-an, Yoo-an, E-wan, or something else?

YOU-en. But I've seen it before so that helps me. I would think EH-wen if I hadn't, but that's just me. I do love the name! But I agree with PP that some people might mistake it for Evan. It won't be a big deal, and I'm sure lots of people are familiar with it. But you and he might have to explain it to some peope once in a while.

I had never heard this name aloud before, so I said E-won in my head... which reminded me of Ewoks.

But now from reading everyone else's responses, I know the correct pronunciation.

And seriously, I call BS on anyone who hasn't heard of Ewan McGregor. He's not a D-list celebrity or anything. He was in Star Wars, which most people have at least heard of, as well as Moulin Rouge and Trainspotting, which is going to hit a wide range of audiences.
