Breastpump?

I know this has been discussed before multiple times, but I just wanted to see what breastpump people recommend?  A sticky link that someone has saved is good too. 

There is a DME that has a Medela freestyle, is this a good one?

    I've heard great reviews about the Medela, and that's what I plan to get, but I'm not sure about the others.

    I am lucky enough to have my insurance pay for mine. I had to order through a medical supply company but had a choice of two top brands. I went with medela because it is a highly trusted and recommended brand.

    The freestyle looks pocket size almost, which will be handy when I go back to work.

    The choices were Ameda purely yours breast pump with no bag or medela personal double pump. It's not as fancy looking as the ones in the store but when it's free and it does what I need it to do I won't complain.

    Edgepark.com has both the Ameda and the Medela, and you can probably file your insurance through them. I ordered mine on the phone with them this morning.

     

    [ETA: I see that Edgepark only carries the PISA. Sorry.]

    I have the Medela Freestyle. I wouldn't recommend any other! As a note, I had the PIS, and it didn't work near as well for me as the Freestyle did.

    Since we are not planning to have anymore I bought a cheaper pump.. Lansinoh brand.  The thing had no suction power at all.  I took that one back and broke down and bought the Medela (the one in the backpack) and I love it. Like the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for".   I pump ever 3- 4 hours and get roughly 200 ML, which is what I was getting at the hospital using their hospital grade pump (it was not a medela).

    I've only every used Medela and have loved it. The parts I get from the hospital are Medela brand but I think may work with other brands.

    I got the Medela PISA but in the Messenger Bag style, not the Tote or Backpack.  I did this because the pump can be removed from the messenger bag but is built into the others.

    I LOVE my freestyle. It's hands free, cordless, and will clip to your clothes, so you are in fact mobile. I used it about 4x daily for a year with DS.

    I had a Medela PISA with my kids.  This time around (as a surrogate donating BM), I've been supplied with the use of a Medela Symphony (hospital grade).  I wouldn't say that the Symphony is any "better", but it's super quiet compared to my PISA.

     Yes, this is a good one. The nurse in our breastfeeding class said most moms who choose a pump choose a similar style.  One thing to do is fit the cup to your size.  It comes with one size, but you can purchase from their website the size that fits right for the appropriate suction.

    I kind of laughed picturing myself mobile pumping.  So basically I can get stuff done an pump.  No rest for this mama.  It would leave me hands free for bumping.  I need to classify my priorities:)

    I have Oxford. I am insurance poor though so they better pay for it lol.

    Check with your insurance. There's a very good chance they cover it for you, too.

    Love the Freestyle.  Got it for DS almost 5 years ago and would be using it still, but my insurance is paying for a new one so I'm going to snag another one.  (And I had a friend use my Freestyle as well because she fell on really hard times.  The thing is like the Energizer bunny.)
