no LH surge on opk test

The DH & I are ttc, i am using a opk test. This in march I had 1 smiley face and this past month no smiley face. Whats going on?? Am I doing this wrong? I test in the morning, but read that people test throughout the day.

any help would be awesome.

    You may need to test multiple times a day.  I have to test 3 times a day because of a short surge. That can get pricey with the Clear Blue tests. I use the Wondfo OPKs from Amazon & confirm a positive result with the digital. You may want to

       Me: IR-PCOS, elevated DHEAs, low progesterone, weak ovulation  DH: low volume, low T
    SHG 5/10/13: both tubes blocked; HSG 6/28 = Left tube cleared! Right blocked.
    BFP#1 7/20/13 EDD 3/30/14, m/c 8/19/13, D&E 8/21/13, Chromosomal results = normal, female
    Lap & hysteroscopy scheduled for 10/31, right tube cleared, no endo found! ...Happy Halloween!
    Cycle 14: Clomid (50)+ IUI = BFP! EDD 9/16/14~ Rowan Elizabeth born sleeping at 17w4d on 4/12/14 due to IC.

    I'm not sure what your brand's instructions say, but mine state to NOT test in the morning. But I do know a bunch of people test twice a day at least. I only test once, but I also chart.

    Also, it's perfectly normal not to ovulate once in while. I

    Some people have a short surge which can be hard to catch. The cycle I got KU with DS I never got a positive OPK. I must have missed the surge because DS is proof I did in fact ovulate. 

    Try testing twice a day.

    Thank you ladies. I use clear blue. it doesn't say to not test in the morning, it does say to test at the same time every day, So i do in the morning. I go to work at 6:30am. wouldn't it be hard/awkward to test during the day..while at work?

    I asked something similar recently. It took me awhile to get a positive this month... I ovulated later than ever on cd 21. It's ok to use FMU with clearblue digis, so I wouldn't worry about that. I do plan on switching to wondfos if I need them next cycle
