I definitely will be asking the doc about these Tuesday, but does anyone know what vaccines are given immediately? Is anyone refusing them and why? Do they even ask the mother or do they just give them?Ive had friends that say "don't do it" and friends that say "go for it" but just wanted to weigh the pros and cons. This will be my project this week while I'm at home bored to do more research.

The only one they give right away at my hospital is Hep B. I have them delay it until the baby's 2 month appointment. They give him shots then anyway, so I'd rather just do it all at once.

We did the vitamin K for clotting and the eythromycin eye gel but waited until 2 weeks to give the hep B vaccine. I didn't really have a good reason except that DD had a traumatic birth and I couldn't do it when they came in the room to give it. I didn't

My OB will also be the baby's pediatrician, she's very stuck on me getting them. She actually pretty much tells me I'm going to get him shots. I'm not against it though.

I feel like they told us on our hospital tour or in one of the classes that the Vitamin K, HepB and eye ointment are all state mandated here. I think it's a 3 ring circus if you want to decline them. (I'm in TX) I'm not in love with the

We are delaying until school age though when there would be more of a possibility of accidental blood contact with other kids or adults. Another thing to consider is if your child gets the birth does of hepB and then your dr is using the Pediarix brand c
I see what you mean. When she's at that age to be at playgrounds, for instance, and have other people babysit her, and generally more contact with people that I 100percent don't know if they are vaccinated, then that will be the time for the vaccine
I loath the idea of vaccines but know it's what's best for baby. I had them, DH had them and our parents had them. The thing is a lot of schools require them and even though I am jumping the gun on school's cause LO isn't even here yet...less than 6 weeks
We'll be declining the eye ointment and vitamin K (unless we have a traumatic birth and bleeding is an issue). Hep B will probably be delayed, but we haven't really decided yet.
With these three things, I don't see it as much like the great

Same. My hubs is also a doc, and this entire vaccination debate has come up many times. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a doctor--or any real medical professional--that is going to support you NOT getting vaccinations. I'd do some
I don't mean to be snarky, but why is it that some people think that the information they get off the internet is more valuable than their doctor's advice? I didn't go to medical school and I don't presume to know more than my doctor. I trust
