Babies: 0 - 3 Months

is it just me??

I thought that if someone just had a baby, most people would take food to that person, not expect them to make food for visitors... I have had countless people come over at meal times and eat my food. Usually I dont mind TOO much but today, Im really bugged about it because we are having 2 friends come visit us in 10 minutes and I asked them before we ate if they had eaten yet (this was like an hour ago) They said they would eat before they came over, so I (one-handedly) make my DH and I sandwitches and right after I put all the food away and we had eaten I get a text asking if we can go ahead and make them food too.... Ugh so annoyed, it took me so long to make 2 sandwiches with a crying baby in one hand and NOW they want some too!? wyf!? And they have 3 kids so they should totally understand how hard it is to make food with a 3 week old, let alone go grocery shopping!

Sorry, just needed to vent!

  • I would say sorry don't have enough I have not went to the store and that is wrong I'm a ftm to and my son crys a lot and only way to get stuff done is but him in a front carrier. So you should say something and if they get mad they can deal with it

  • Yea I know my husband is a butt head to so its totally understandable to be a *** for lack of better words you jut gave birth and have other kids they will have to deal or not come over
  • I know the feeling. Last night I was truly hoping my friend would run late and miss visiting right at dinner so I could hang on to more for leftovers. I would have fed him if he came at dinner time, but I was crossing my fingers <img src="https://community

  • That is super-rude of them.  My dad has pulled this stunt twice already .. and that was after I made it clear we didn't have enough lunch materials to go around on the days he visited!

  • I really find that rude. Next time go with the "we don't have enough food" excuse.

  • Yeah that seems pretty rude.  I'm not quite sure why people (esp those with kids) don't think about these things.  I've had a lot of my husbands friends want to come visit in the first week... not even realizing that we might be adjusting.

  • Wow. I would not have asked if they have had lunch. Maybe they thought you were offering? I would have ate my food and assumed they would never ask someone with a newborn to make them something. :)
  • Ew! No manners whatsoever. That kind of rudeness mixed with post partem hormones..I'd probs cuss someone out
