It's after 2 am. We have had a long, gassy night filled with lots of fussing. Ellie has her bottle, a fresh diaper, a vomit session and fresh clothes, and a nice right swaddle. I kid you not, no sooner do I pull the second Velcro tab on her swaddleme shut do I hear the poop. It is a task in itself to swaddle this baby. I am exhausted. Now I must decide: do I change her? Do I wait for 3 hours until she wakes again? The little angel is already half asleep. I put butt paste on her half an hour ago at her last change as a rash preventative.... But I feel so guilty. This is the worst, isn't it ladies?!
I'm probably in the minority here but wait till her next feeding. DD is queen of the shart! I will change her then right after she will shart, there isn't much of anything in her diaper so I'll let it go till her next one.
Ugh! Hate having to make that call. Sometimes he'll pass out instantly after a poop. Waking him up is truly traumatic. I usually wait it out in those cases :X
No judgement here if you wait until the next feeding...it's 2 am momma get some sleep! iif a kid pooped in their sleep would you automatically know if you weren't in the room?
Little Riley-our first little girl coming March 1st, 2013 (or sometime around there;)
No judgement from me either! We do the same thing...actually just did it. If he poops after a feeding and he is half asleep we wait until the next feeding. No need in waking him up and causing him to stay up. We need sleep too! :
Girlfriend get some sleep! How did the alimentum end up doing for your dd?
We're having to switch again, this time to soy. It worked great for her lack of pooing but reflux got 474326788 times worse I hope your lo is doing well on it thoug
This is the story. of. my. life. This happens almost on a daily/nightly basis. I make the call each and every time based on whether LO's butt is red, whether it sounded like a shart versus a blowout, etc. etc. No judgement here! Sleep is sacred these days
I am in support of waiting until next time too. My little guy poops and farts so much (upwards of 8 poops per day) and they often happen right after I have changed him, that I would be constantly waking him up and changing him, especially at night. I almo
I love this! I seriously have this dilemma daily, and most often in the middle of the night. Glad to hear I'm not the only one that likes to sometimes wait it out.
If I need to change my baby when they are sleeping and swaddled in a Swaddle Me type blanket I leave their arms swaddled and just undo the midde Velcro patch and pull the bottom part off. If her arms stay swaddled and I warm the wipes in my hands sh
