Weird Cry. Cough Cough Cry?

DD has been doing this since she was born. She starts her cries with 2-3 coughs, and then cries. Sometimes she coughs in the middle of the cry too. The Dr said it was fine, but to me it's a little weird. I wish it would stop! It kinda freaks me out. Anyone else have this happen?

    Is it a real cough or more like a clearing throat thing? I forget the place I read it, but it described the kinda cough cry as the hungry cry. So maybe if its just happening when he's hungry that's what it is. Just a thought

    I think my LO does this sometimes when she is crying in the car. I thought it was bc she was getting a dry throat thanks to all the screaming.

    It could be silent reflux. My 9 week old does this and he has silent reflux.
