I think I'm losing some of it

I am 35 weeks 3 days today. I think I am losing some of my mucus plug and have been the last 3 days. In the other post I put I had some spotting and little blood in urine. I called my nurse n she just said it maybe from not drinking enough water. Well then I went to the bathroom and noticed brownish yellowish discharge on toilet paper and snot like pieces in the toilet. Sry ok TMI but if I am losing some of it how long does it take to go into labor after you lose it or will I make it to May if I'm losing some now?

Re: I think I'm losing some of it

  • Losing your mucus plug doesn't necessarily mean anything at all.  It can sometimes mean you're going into labor soon, but other times it grows back.  You just have to see.
  • There is no way of knowing when you will go into labor.  Some people lose their mucus plug more than once.  It can regenerate.

  • I lost mine with DS at 27 or 28 weeks. Labor started at 34 weeks.
  • A friend of mine started losing her mucous plug at 34 weeks, and didn't go into labor until 42 weeks. Doesn't necessarily mean labor is imminent.

  • You can loose your mucus plug and not be in labor for weeks. I don't mean to sound weird to compare us to horses but they are mammals too, and I have mares that will loose their plug but not have their foals for another month. So I don't think we are any

  • Just ask your doctor about what you do now. If there's no plug and your cervix is slightly open the risk of infection is higher or that's what I wrote down in prenatal classes....I may be wrong so ask your doctor.
