Gift from baby to big sister/brother

So I was talking to a friend who has two girls pretty close together. I was asking how the older daughter did when the second came. She told me that when the older daughter came to meet the Lo for the first time, they had a "big sister" present from the baby. That went over great. Talked to my DH and he also agreed that would probably be a nice thing to do since the LO will be getting some goodies at first. Any one else doing something similar?

  • We are and we are going to have DS go to build a bear and build a stuffed animal for the baby. So he will bring a present and we will have one for him from the baby.

  • We're not giving him a present "from the baby," but we are planning to get him something that shows he's a big kid. Just haven't decided exactly what that's going to be yet.

  • I think this would work with little ones, but my 7yo son would want to know the logistics of how she got to the store, who fronted the money, etc. He wouldn't buy into it....

    So, he's getting a big brother t-shirt (well....a few actually), a boo

  • We did the opposite when DD was born. DH took DS to the mall and had him help pick out a stuffed animal and blanket for his baby sister.  He has been reminded which items he 'bought' her and is still proud.  DD now tells people that her blankie
